Tonight we’re asking a simple question… does the BOLO still exist? Years ago, knowing what to look out for could give you a real advantage. But in a world of Google Lens, sold listings and AI, has that advantage disappeared, or is there still an edge to be had?

I'm joined by the infamous "Bargain Bell" for this podcast.

SPEAKER_01

Welcome back everybody. Tonight we're asking a simple question. Does the bolo still exist? Years ago, knowing what to look out for could give you a real advantage. But in a world of Google Lens, sold listings and AI, has that advantage disappeared? Or is there still an edge to be had? My name's Chris, aka Carboot Chris, and I'm a full-time UK online reseller. I operate mainly on eBay, but also on vintage and whatnot. I'm bringing you regular podcasts all about reselling with a bit of fun thrown in too. Hopefully to keep you company to entertain you and maybe a little bit of education. Who knows? Welcome to the Everything Reselling Podcast. Good evening, everybody. Welcome back to the podcast. I'm Carboot Crazy's bargain Bell, my sidekick, my trusty sidekick. And just for anyone who's new here, I'm a full-time reseller, as I said on the intro. Belle has a real job. She resells a little bit, but it's pretty much all her own stuff. Yeah, that's what we do. We do this podcast every Monday night at 8 pm. And today it's the last in the series. I think it's series eight, is it? Series eight. We do them in blocks of 10. So it's the final one of series eight. We'll be having a week off next week before we start series nine. So we just get one week off and then we'll come back again.

SPEAKER_03

Well, technically, we had last week off. No, not last week.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but that's different. We were on holiday. So Belle, would you like to say hello to everybody?

SPEAKER_03

Hi, everyone.

SPEAKER_01

Is that it? Come on, give us a proper hello and intro.

SPEAKER_03

What do you want me to say?

SPEAKER_00

I don't know. Just say something.

SPEAKER_03

Everybody knows who I am.

SPEAKER_00

People are watching and listening. Say something.

SPEAKER_03

Hi. Hope you're all having a good week.

SPEAKER_00

I'm glad it's cooled down a bit.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, there you go. That's about as good as you're getting from Bell. So, anyways, on tonight's show, we are talking about bolos. It feels like the tides changed a bit with bolos. We don't hear them talk about much these days. We don't I don't speak about them much. I'm not even sure the bolo really exists anymore. But we're gonna get to that in a bit. So hold that thought. Think about bolos. If you don't know what a bolo is, then I'm gonna tell you in a little while.

SPEAKER_04

And it had a haircut my mum used to give me when I was a kid.

SPEAKER_01

That's a bowl head. But not far off. You had one, hang on.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

You had a bowl. Yeah. You were a girl.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, but I was a tomboy.

SPEAKER_01

I've seen pictures of her when she was young. She didn't look like what she did.

SPEAKER_04

Well, no, for a start, I was strawberry blonde. But no, I had every boy's haircut you could think of. Even had a chessboard at one point.

SPEAKER_01

What's one of them?

SPEAKER_04

Where do they have the squares?

SPEAKER_00

Why would you have that?

SPEAKER_04

Because it was in on in trend.

SPEAKER_01

No, it wasn't, not for anybody. I was around at roughly the same time.

SPEAKER_03

The tram lines?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that was in, but only for vanilla rice. That's crazy. Let's have a look through the chat. Get your hellos in, folks. And Belle's gonna say hello to as many people as possible in the one minute allotted time, just so that we can engage with everybody, get you all going, get the juices flowing. Don't worry about making a comment. You can always make a comment as long as it's respectful. And we'll try and get in there and talk about it. If you've got a question, you can ask a question, especially it's the last in the series. So get your questions in. Normally we have a free-for-all for the last in the series, but whatever. Get some in. It's pretty much a free-for-all most weeks anyway.

SPEAKER_04

I'm pretty sure that's that's what happens every week.

SPEAKER_01

Um, so yeah, don't be worried about joining in. If you're new, make sure you say hello. And here we go. Belle's gonna say hello to as many people as possible in the one-minute time period, starting from now.

SPEAKER_04

Uh, so we've got Jamie D, Bolo Tie, which I'm pretty sure is Jeff, uh, Beastie Boy, Lynnlyn Jeffries, Fixing All Sorts, Kevin Hawthorne, Karen Evans, Carol Harris, Fluffy the Muffin, Rosie Marsden, Mark Hill, Emsden, Johnny Forticourt, Lime Light Vintage, Sharon Island, Life in the First Lane, Cavalist, See What You Buy, Antoinette Daly, Rosie Marsden, Alex's Retro Drip, Paul Hillman, Lizzie's Scotty Dog, Frey Andy Bentos, Helen Graham, Pixel Fix, the Dean of Westminster, I think that is.

SPEAKER_02

Interesting.

SPEAKER_04

Uh Chris Tyler, Jules V. I think that is Lisa, Steady Cam Cam One. ENG Bargains, Alknax, and Colin Lingus.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, welcome everybody. You've done well there. A few more people chatting this week. Last week we were struggling a bit for the old chat, weren't we?

SPEAKER_00

But uh we've got six and seven in the chat.

SPEAKER_04

Not not even going there. Not even going there. Six and seven, you got you've got a no, it's now six and eight, so it changes. Oh, we nearly oh sixty-six see. They're trying to get they're trying to get it there now. They're like fluctuating it. But yeah, just going back to the haircut, the the the short hair actually started because I went behind the sofa when I was younger and I had really long hair, and I went behind the sofa with a pair of scissors to cut my own hair and chopped all my fringe off.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, right, okay.

SPEAKER_04

So my mum was like, right, cut it all off.

SPEAKER_01

That's a bit mean.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, but I did look stupid. So that's where and then that was it. Then I was like, right, I'm gonna be a tomboy. Can I have short hair forever?

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Fair enough. The Dean of Bestminster.

SPEAKER_02

That's a new name, isn't it?

SPEAKER_01

Evening all, nice to be on a reseller app without trolls, fake bigging bidding up and whatnot this evening. Well, welcome. Thanks for joining us. Uh, you can introduce yourself and tell us a bit about yourself if you like, because I don't recognise the name unless you've you're a channel name change, which people do all the time. And I'm just getting through the chat here to see if there's any more.

SPEAKER_04

Fix it, fixing all sorts says, Oh no, no bolo. If you find one, keep it under your hat.

SPEAKER_01

Fixing all sorts. Is that the vinegar jar?

SPEAKER_04

I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

I think that's Peter. That may be Peter. I'm not sure. Peter. Limelight says, I don't think there are many bolos anymore because sellers use Google Emmy search, so they know what they have. Exactly. Yeah, that is true. We're gonna talk about that in a bit. I told you to hold that thought, not bring it up now. You're too early. You peaked too early. Bolo Tie says, What was everyone's take on the bad sportsmanship on display from second place finishers at the World Cup? Yeah, Argentina were very, very poor, weren't they? Did you didn't see it? Belle didn't even watch the final with me. After I watched everything else, she was busy doing other stuff, but after the final whistle went, Argentina just lost the plot. People get away. There was fighting, punching, all kinds of stuff. Someone got sent off after the final whistle. Yeah, very poor. Now I'll tell you what, right? If that were England, we're not going to make this a World Cup chat, but if that was England players fighting after the final whistle and doing all the shit that they were doing, what do you think would be happening right now? We'd have the book thrown at us by FIFA, wouldn't we? England thugs, England hooligans, all that would come out, wouldn't it? And we'd end up having God knows how many game bans and stuff, or we'd be banned from the next World Cup. But Argentina, no chance.

SPEAKER_04

You don't know yet, maybe.

SPEAKER_01

Don't believe it.

SPEAKER_04

Life in the First Lane said I was a Shrewsbury Blonde. I was a ginger. Wasn't quite a ginger. Strawberry blonde.

SPEAKER_01

Ginger.

SPEAKER_04

Not chat, not quite a ginger.

SPEAKER_01

Rosie says it was disgraceful. Disgraceful behaviour. It was. Wasn't really in the spirit of such a the biggest game in world football, isn't it? Basically, like for world football.

SPEAKER_04

They didn't deserve to be in the final if that's the way they're going to behave.

SPEAKER_01

No, they didn't. I just had an eBay notification coming. Someone's bought Berghouse jacket. Middle of summer, someone's bought a berghouse jacket. Happy days. It's been quiet today. These last few days on eBay have been really weird. Very quiet Saturday. And then Sunday weren't bad at all. And then it's gone quiet again today, but in the evening it's picked up. It is, it's we're back on that eBay roller coaster at the moment. That's what it feels like to me. Really, really up and down. Let us know how it's been going for you guys as well.

SPEAKER_04

D and G has joined us. Is he said Argentina need banning?

SPEAKER_01

I think so as well, hasn't it?

SPEAKER_04

Confinito needs firing, and America should be overlooked as a venue.

SPEAKER_01

I don't I think America, let's let's face it, right? America have hosted, well, it's not just America though, is it? Mexico and Canada as well have been the host. So it's it feels like it's been heavily focused on the US. But they've hosted it. I think they've done a good job. But they've hosted it in true American style, haven't they? Like they've done countdowns before games, halftime things, hydration breaks. Well, yeah, that's probably more FIFA, isn't it? But it could be the Americans as well. But also rings for the winners. That's an NFL thing, isn't it? Uh but I quite like it that they've put like wherever it I wouldn't be adverse to wherever it's hosted, some of their own traditions of their own sport. Like bring it in. Like I think I think it's it's been very Americanized, but I don't think it's been bad. I don't think it's been bad at all. And we have Yanks in the chat as well, so we have to be careful what we say. Rachel Fantastics in. Weren't you on uh eBay Live earlier? Did it go alright? You have a good show.

SPEAKER_04

Jules says they've had four really good days in eBay, then nothing today.

SPEAKER_01

It's very, very roller coaster like at the moment.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, even Jeff says that halftime show was complete garbage.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah. It was.

SPEAKER_04

I only knew that there was a rubbish halftime show because him and Big Steve were messaging each other about it.

SPEAKER_01

I was winding them up because I was winding them up because uh they were saying how terrible this halftime show, and I was because Lana is I called her a miserable bastard or something like that, a miserable sod. So I was winding them up about it, but it wasn't the greatest, was it?

SPEAKER_04

Oh speaking of Big Steve, haven't you got a VT you need to run for him?

SPEAKER_00

Oh happy birthday!

SPEAKER_04

Woo!

SPEAKER_01

Happy birthday to Big Steve and Big Steve.

SPEAKER_04

It is today. Yep, an official Monday Night Live birthday.

SPEAKER_01

Is he 50 today?

SPEAKER_04

Something like that. Yeah, I think 52.

SPEAKER_01

No, I think he's 50.

SPEAKER_04

Maybe 56 or 55.

SPEAKER_01

He's up there in the fives anyway. I know he I know that much. He's pretty old. But happy birthday to Big Steve. Life in the first lane in the chat as we see it now. Oh, Rachel said yes to eBay Live, and it was my worst one. Oh it's so frustrating, it's so demoralizing, in it, when you have a when you have a bad show. Because it takes a while as well to set up and close down and do your packing, and it it kind of takes a lot out of your day, unless, of course, you just suddenly go live and sod it and you know just sell whatever you've got. But I find that it takes me a while to set up and you know it can take half your day to sort it out.

SPEAKER_04

Well, going off our last week's when eBay was completely playing up and we couldn't get on the show, it wouldn't let us get in. Then we can't then we we came out of it and it got rid of it, and you had to reset it up, and then it was freezing.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, last week's eBay live was an absolute nightmare. Nothing was working. Like Belle said, we couldn't get on the show to even start it properly. It wasn't our fault. The in our internet was absolutely fine.

SPEAKER_04

eBay was just being a pain.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and people were getting kicked out. Somebody in the chat said that they'd been kicked out of it 13 times during the show and had to come back in and log back in. It was very, very weird.

SPEAKER_04

But I will say, big thank you to anyone that joined us and stuck with it because we needed that, trust me. Made it worthwhile in the end.

SPEAKER_01

Uh life in the first said that he's younger than me. He's not younger than me, is he, Steve? You don't look it anyway. I look a lot younger.

SPEAKER_04

Rosie says average price of a seat last night was 10. That's supposed to be 10 grand a ticket.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I think it I think they were about 10k for a ticket, weren't they? I saw someone say.

SPEAKER_04

Ricky says, Are you going to the rubber club this Sunday? If so, we'd love a pick this time.

SPEAKER_01

Maybe I don't know. I I don't go that often, to be honest with you. My mum's here, so probably won't go because my mum's here. We'll probably stay local. So yeah, we'll see. We'll see, but probably not, I would say. But I'll hope to get there in the next couple of weeks.

SPEAKER_04

Uh Linlynn says she got Dumbo on Saturday.

SPEAKER_01

Uh oh yeah, Linlynn bought a little uh Zum Zum. Thank you, Lin Lynn. And also I need to say thank you to Pumpkin Picker as well because I noticed you, I did notice, Pumpkin Picker bought the big Pokemon that picked up at the rugby club last time. She bought it on eBay, just on eBay normal. So I saw you user name, thank you, Pumpkin Picker.

SPEAKER_04

Lizzie Scotty Dog says she loved her eBay live buys. The bunnies are so cute.

SPEAKER_01

Brilliant.

SPEAKER_04

Thank you very much for your purchases, Liz. I'm glad you like them.

SPEAKER_01

Uh Pixel Fix. Any neighbours fans out there? Are you what?

SPEAKER_04

On New Drama Player, they started it up from episode one takes me one back. I can't. I'm not getting into that. No, can't do it again.

SPEAKER_01

I'm not getting into that. When I used to go on holiday, like back in the 90s with mum and dad and stuff, I used to record neighbours, watch it all when I come back. I could never miss an episode. Used to have it on video plus, you know, that so it recorded it at the same time every single day on the video. But then you put if you if you're going away for two weeks, you run out of video tape, so you had to put it on long play, so that it doubled the amount of time on your tape. That was young pe any young person listening now, that was just gobbledygook. I've not got a clue what I was talking about.

SPEAKER_04

Well, no offence, we've reverted back to we have no recording functionalities at all anymore.

SPEAKER_01

No, because you don't really need to record anything anymore, because you can watch it back, you can do plus one, you can it's repeated a million times. So, you what do you need to record anything anything for anymore? Like, everything's streamed, so you watch an episode and then you come back tomorrow and watch another episode. The world has changed.

SPEAKER_04

Lisa said, Yeah, me being watching it on YouTube. They have a YouTube classic channel I'm on year 1993 now. You'd enjoy watching that. YouTube Classics channel, which is on nine year 1993.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I'll have to dig that out. What what's the actual channel name, Lisa? Will you will you send me a link to it? I love stuff like that. It keeps me going during the day, just watching things like that. I normally watch Chop of the Pops all day long. All the old episodes and that, amongst all the reselling content that I do as well.

SPEAKER_04

I think so. Vic says I remember using one play. Fluffy says Kylie and Jason might stay together this time around.

SPEAKER_01

Ricky says, okay, have a lovely weekend. I'll try and keep some nice stock for you. Oh, brilliant, yeah. Excellent. Keep that stock for me. But you're never guaranteed when I'm going to be there, so you know, never miss out on a sale at the same time. Neighbours was massive, it was, it was huge, wasn't it? It was interesting watching the Kylie. Was it the Kylie documentary where she talks about neighbours and how big it had got and stuff? It was the Kylie documentary, wasn't it?

SPEAKER_04

Jason was on it as well, wasn't it? Yeah, Jason Donovan was on it as well. He swore a lot.

SPEAKER_01

Is that all that's that's all I took away from it?

SPEAKER_04

All right. While he was dis while he was talking about it and their relationship and that brief moment in time, but yeah, I just remember he swore a lot.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, see, people do remember long play, yeah. Double the length of your tape. That's what she says. Bolo Thai says, Tracy says Belle looks fabulous with her hair pulled back. There you go. Tracy says you look fabulous.

SPEAKER_04

Have you did you say something to him before we came on the show?

SPEAKER_01

Just before we came on the show, right? Bit of behind the scenes. Belle was like, I'm not coming on tonight. I look terrible. I just basically told her to get a grip and just sit take a seat. So you've probably made a day by saying that because she she doesn't feel very good at the moment, do you?

SPEAKER_03

I don't feel very good at the moment.

SPEAKER_01

And then I tell her to get a grip. So you get it real from me. Yeah, real. Keep it real. Oh, you just mean neighbours classics. Alright, okay. I probably won't bother with that. I can't even bother watching that.

SPEAKER_04

Steve says if you're going to Chester, let him know.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, we'll do.

SPEAKER_04

The Gilded Geezer says, well met. Well met. Super awesome peeps from here on a 24 degree sunny, beautiful West Sussex, South Coast, UK. Whatever you can do or dream you can begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it.

SPEAKER_01

Crikey, that's a lot. That's a lot to take in, right there. But yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Very nice sentence.

SPEAKER_01

Inspirational quote.

SPEAKER_04

Thank you for that, Gildy Geezer. First episode was in March 1985. I was only five years old.

SPEAKER_02

I was seven.

SPEAKER_01

Bell always looks great, apparently. Muffin says.

SPEAKER_04

Thank you for lying to me, but I'll take it.

SPEAKER_01

Peter Ray says I watched old episodes of Coronation Street and the Bill. I wouldn't watch Coronation Street. I wasn't I've never been a Coronation Street watcher.

SPEAKER_04

I used to be a every week Coronation Street and East Enders, but I haven't watched it for years.

SPEAKER_01

Rachel Fantastic says she looked fantastic.

SPEAKER_00

Thank you.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, she won't take compliments very well. I thought I would remember last week we talked about how uh ChatGPT had automatically given me a summary of the of the duck comments. Well, it's given me a summary of this week's duck comments or this week's comments on the video, you know, to get in the duck race. So I thought they always make me chuckle. And here's this week's summary.

SPEAKER_04

And it's got the gilded geezer on it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. They call it Chat G has called it the duck pond bulletin. So it says the gilded geezer is the new reigning champion after winning duck race 216. Jules B has confirmed a kilo of prize sweets survived exactly seven days. That's commitment. Pixel Fix has specifically requested Donald for this week's race. I'll assume Donald has been briefed. Chris Tyler attempted to bribe ChatGPT with a date with Co-Pilot in exchange for a duck race victory.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

I can neither confirm nor deny negotiations, but the race remains gloriously rigged by absolutely nobody. And there was plenty of discussion about vintage versus eBay with opinions split down the middle. The weather continues to be a recurring character in comments, second only to the ducks. And it ends with the pond is open, the ducks are hydrated, and Donald is warming up. It's very funny. It is funny.

SPEAKER_04

Julie says, no, don't tell everyone.

SPEAKER_01

What tell everyone what? About a sweet. Oh yeah. You told everybody, you wrote it in the comments, Jules.

SPEAKER_04

Jeff says, How old must a person be before they can be called a geezer? It's not about age being called a geezer, it's the type of person you are. So a lot of Londoners tend to be geezers.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's not necessarily an age thing. I would say it is partly age. I I when you say the word geezer you think I already I I immediately think Ray Winston who's Ray Winston oh for fuck's sake Ray Winston Girlsbuster no wouldn't he call Ray Winston no was he called Winston he's in all the London films but see what I mean it it tends to be yeah he's a kind of geezer he's a geezer he's a geezer he's a proper geezer or what's his name the one who's got a daughter who what's his name wide boy can't remember his name I've forgotten he's got a daughter who was was she on Love Island oh you're talking about Danny Dyer Danny Dyer I class him as a geezer why the only thing you could think about Danny Dyer was the fact his daughter was on Love Island that you never watched I don't watch it well I know about it I know about it I've got my finger on the pulse you know that was funny that Jeff said I liked how I got recognised I liked how AI recognised my efforts in maintaining duck race stats in the last show you didn't get recognised this week Jeff you got bypassed which was a bit mean the gilded geezer watches the episodes of Dad's arm never watched it the first time round Lisa says I think of all the fools and horses with geezer Chris says Chris I've just sold something and next to shipping it oh supposed to be next to shipping it says this paid wait to ship buyer as one yeah that's what it started doing now it does it I assume Chris if you got a private account it does it on yours doesn't it doesn't do it on mine I've got a business account but I assume Chris you've got a private account yeah they get they get like so long to carry on shopping in your store before you can combine postage yeah Danny Dyer that's it yeah everyone know oh Jeff has says that it the definition of geezer says an old person but I wouldn't necessarily say it was an old person especially an eccentric old man a queer old fellow an old chap sometimes an old woman I don't know where you've got that from Jeff but it's certainly not the English no the English explanation of what a geezer is Vinnie Jones could be a geezer and Michael Cain was definitely a geezer yeah definitely yeah there's a certain way about a person for him to be a geezer okay before we crack on I'm gonna say a big thank you to always when someone was going to come up with that a geezer is a hot water spout there is always that isn't that a geyser that's a geyser yeah yeah big thank you to all our channel members they're all going across the screen right now we have around 65 members at the moment so thank you to everybody it's 299 a month to join you just hit the join button on here on YouTube and it gives you access to our little discord community a community of resellers and a few non-resellers as well and yeah if you want to join us feel free big thank you to all our channel members very much appreciated what I've not put on the screen either as well my little widget do you want to see me a little widget on screen there it is there it is your widgets get shown on the other account this one here on screen you can see a scan code that'll take you to all my eBay lives so if I ever do an eBay live which probably be one this week at some point as well that has all my shows on that one link rather than just sharing a single show link which is if you change something with the show or you it crashes then it becomes redundant that link so it's better to share this link here so yeah if you want to come and follow any of our future shows click that bookmark it do what you like Jeff says I think Uncle Albert is a geezer uncle Albert's not a geezer he's an old codger he's a codger he's an old codger he's not a geezer yeah I wouldn't have said he was a geezer I would have said I don't even think Delboy's a geezer I think Boise is a geezer if he was Boise definitely Roger Moore wasn't a geezer no Roger Moore was a what was he Suave a Suave yeah anyway enough talk about geezers tonight's chat we're talking about bolos so let's get into it let me just refer to my notes so I think most people watching or listening uh anyone listening on Spotify Apple Music and all that well you'll probably know what a bolo is but just in case you don't know it stands for be on the lookout I think it's a phrase that came out maybe about 10 years ago I don't recall it much before then it was in the early days of YouTube reselling and you call you call out a bolo something unusual or valuable that you find out out in the wild you know the questionnaire sport game was once a bolo flat eric is is a bolo just something that's like you can normally pick up cheap it normally flips for a good profit you know can you think of any bolos I would say like a Sony Walkman if you see a Sony Walkman you know out in the wild you I you probably say that that was a bolo I'm giving away all the secrets here but also bolos not not necessarily yeah the oh the MooJu2 the Muju 2 is a bolo but it's not necessarily the things that you buy buy low sell high it's more unusual things things that you might not think of and you might not have known before you found out you know how much it was worth you might have bypassed it in a normal world. Wasn't the atmosphere gameable or it was I think it was yeah I'm not sure it is so much of a bolo anymore it used to be I think that that castle game oh that that's still a bolo is it Ghost's castle something like that I can't remember the board game see it's what it's lost on me with bolos I don't remember things so yeah that's a bolo right so yeah I just the note here was something most people walk past but a reseller would recognise and we all all on YouTube we all used to share bolos and I guess that definitely deflated some of the market on some of the things I think um a prime example of that is the question of sports stuff where people were finding the cards like Mike Tyson and stuff like that and then getting them graded but the graded market is down anyway so but I think everyone sort of saturated the market with the question of sport stuff Liz says I always thought it was buy or lose out who said that no it's not buy or lose out it's beyond the lookout there's a silent tea in there so I guess my my question is is there really do we really like share bolos anymore? We don't share them so much I don't really see a video where someone really shares a bolo do we do that on purpose I don't know maybe sometimes we've recognized the fact that if we share too much it gets saturated there's loads of examples of that travel through history said back you can backugin has always been a good always been a good bolo for them but I don't think the Bolo really exists anymore and I'll tell you why it kind of I talked about it on the intro AI is here now it's here to stay and it's getting better and better as we go Google Lens has been around for at least five years where you can reverse image search some search something and eBay sold everyone pretty much everyone even non-resellers people stood behind a store selling their stuff they can very easily find out what something is worth now they can just Google lens it and decide what they're gonna charge people at a car boot sale. So now when they Google lens flat eric for example the plush they're gonna realize that it's worth quite a bit of money even the small ones so maybe then they're not going to sell it for a pound anymore because they've got tools at their fingertips. They can check eBay sold so they know how to do that now they can Google lens and the majority of people now have some form of AI on their phone whether it be ChatGPT Claude Dora what else there is Gemini all of them there's so many different ones and it's at your fingertips. So I'm not even sure the bowler really exists anymore. You of course you can still find stuff that's cheap and flip it for high but this whole thing about oh be on the lookout for this I'm not sure.

SPEAKER_04

I think people still do it's just whether you're finding them or not because like you said you're saying that people are more aware of how much they're worth so people are charging more so is it only a bolo if you found it for a pound and it's worth a lot or isn't it just the finding it part of it being a bolo maybe yeah it could just be finding something because you could say oh I found a bolo but it's because I paid the asking price for it.

SPEAKER_01

It's because the rarer items the rarer items but you want as a as a reseller you really want to find it cheap so that you can flip it.

SPEAKER_04

But so you want both you want you want you want your cake and eat it you want to be able to find a rare item cheap so that's basically what you're saying.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah well that's the whole thing of being on the lookout isn't it yeah if you can get it cheap great but I was thinking about it and maybe the advantage isn't knowing what bolos are out there anymore. Maybe the advantage now is getting there first getting there before other resellers maybe the advantage is not being on the lookout for these things but actually just building relationships with sellers which is a great advantage of having YouTube because people will come to me and say do you want to buy XYZ but if you're at car boot sales on a weekly basis the same ones the same ones the same ones you tend to build relationships you recognize people you say hello you swap numbers you you know maybe that's where the real value lies being able to spot condition obviously pricing correctly listing the item better and buying confidently maybe all those things are now the new edge maybe if the bolo doesn't really exist anymore maybe that's where the edge lies and your experience because you the you can't put a price on that you know sometimes I'm wandering around and I'll pick up random things sometimes they'll be worth a shitload and sometimes they won't be worth anything but you have that thing in your head sometimes as a reseller where you're walking around a car boot sale and you'll just zoom in on something because your experience of buying similar things tells you that that might be worth something and some things just look unique.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah and you can't get that from just scanning something because you'd have to scan the entire store wouldn't you to know well like last weekend when we went to the car boot and I pit you up that turtles decanter lask decanter and things we couldn't even find anything similar so you could have scanned that or and I wouldn't have had any idea I just it looked unique it looked different and it looked like the sort of thing that would be worth something and it was only two quid so you know it's scanning it or AI in it or anything it wouldn't have helped me with that one.

SPEAKER_01

No, because there was nothing on lens was there so that was just going on gut instinct and a bit of experience of knowing that something like that is going to be worth a bit of money. If you're like brand new to reselling right you can get your AI and you can get your Google lens and you can scan some it and you can have an idea if it's going to give you a profit. That's much easier than 10 years ago much much easier than 10 years ago but what it can't give you is that thing in your head of scanning an entire table and picking up something that you might not normally have looked at. So I think that's where the experience comes in. And don't get me wrong I don't know everything none of us know everything and I'll scan a table and I'll miss things. You'd gone past that table I didn't even see it I didn't even see it but Belle picked up this decanter thing. But yeah so I think experience still counts for a lot and it your experience is not going to be replaced yet by AI and Google Lens and stuff. I guess the I guess when things may change is when you have the ability to have an AI assistant look at an entire stall and go ping ping ping ping ping these things might be worth a closer look. Can't things like Gemini already do that possibly I mean I've seen adverts where you can like scan a bunch of flowers and like a flower shop and say which of these would look good together and it'll pick them out so is that not a similar sort of thing similar I have seen an AI app that you can take a picture you can go into a charity shop take a picture of like a bookcase of just the spines right just the spines you could have 200 books on your picture and it will it will read every single spine in like in that time and it will it will tell you which ones are worth picking out of the bookcase to have a look at and I was going to say please don't tell me it's gonna give you a list of the names because I can guarantee you 99.9 out of them will be the wrong name because AI does not read things very well. But I saw this thing right but we're in early days AI we're in very early days in one year's time we're gonna be a million miles away from where we are now and in five years' time who knows where we're gonna be so if you can take a picture of a stall and it will highlight items that might be worth money well it's gonna highlight a lot of things because most things are worth money but if you maybe you can put parameters in anything worth more than 20 pounds highlight for me. And once we get to that stage reselling will change forever.

SPEAKER_04

But then my question would be where's it getting its pricing strategy from because I found with AI if I because I use AI to help me write like vintage descriptions and stuff never go off the pricing of an AI because it's it's so random I don't know where it's getting it from so for me it'd be where's it getting its value in from well you have to tell it where to get it from you have to say if you give me a if you give me a price only use whatever you want it to use. Just go back up here so Jeff says Bolo a working Sony Walkman yes that is definitely a bolo. Let's get back to the chat which Chris does have on his shelf somewhere.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah working Sony Walkman even broken ones can be worth it eating them out.

SPEAKER_04

N bargains says Philofax personal organisers Pixelf says Tomy Super Cup football was always a bolo for them. Yeah I I got two of those once afray Andy Bentos says just looked up the origins of Bolo and it's from the police yeah be on the lookout. Oh okay that's interesting then adopted into reselling early in the mid 2010s I was in the cops during that period I don't ever remember the word bolo sounds it sounds Londonish. Yeah uh flipping wolf said bolo seems to be changing all the time for me my bolos have been weird this year vintage empty cans of Red Bull limited exit I think the problem like you know like some people have I've seen people compiling lists of bolos but the problem is the minute you've compiled the list of bolos the next day it's like it's out of date because it can change really quickly it can change really quick and it can not be a bolo the next day you know maybe not the next day but you know what I mean. Swamp Picker says do you have glassy baby over there?

SPEAKER_01

Never heard of that no never heard of that don't know what it is. Is that a picture of you Swamp Picker?

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Mr Crummy says an I I wrote oh I wrote an AI rock song called Searching for the bowler.

SPEAKER_01

Lovely Lisa said the Oxford I wonder if it'll do as well as that Puerto Rico song that's doing the rounds at the moment have you heard that on everything everyone's singing it.

SPEAKER_04

Lisa said the Oxford crossword solvers and revital machines yeah they are good to pick up Jeff says he's got a miniature flat Eric is still on the lookout for a pop proper full size one you bought mine didn't you Jeff or did you no you did I'm sure you bought mine it must have been a baby one though. Yeah I thought I thought you bought my baby one flipping wall says I used to do bolo YouTube videos every week not anymore it's back business. Antoinette Daly says I've sold the board game guards guards guards Terry Pratchett three times each sold within just a few minutes after being listed. I need to write some of these bolos down but Jeff says you have to get there pretty early to be there before Superday baby L you sell him life and first lane said it was like Twitch from Toy Story 3 it was the it was only the bigger one that was worth money used to be great picking it for two pounds and selling for 80 which one's Twitch Toy Story 3 Twitch I don't remember which one Twitch is one of the lesser known characters. Yeah flipping wall says a lot of retailers are taking off by setting up Facebook pages they get known and people bring stuff to them tried it myself failed but the Yorkshire picker has just exploded on Facebook Chris Tyler says if you take a picture of a thousand women it tells you your future wife Jeff says that's the that's I might try that that's the thing the late great Dale go for it yeah so delayed that used to talk about making all the difference in winning decisions experience flogger says the best bolos are the ones you discover yourself if you want them to stay a bolo then probably best to keep it on low possibly yeah possibly's can be anything because it's like jelly cats jelly cats are always sought after but then there will be certain ones that are like worth loads of money same with when we when we first started buying them cups the Disney cups we found out that the January cup was worth like loads of money because most people missed January and then wanted it again so this is why they come around because we've had that January cup since and it's not really been worth much yeah massively slashed so they don't last long there's always a time there's always a window like a a time window isn't there where they're sought after because it's like that it's like those Disney cups when they first brought them out and obviously people miss the January one then they were looking for them but then once that collection has moved on and they brought out a different collection that people are doing they're not interested anymore.

SPEAKER_01

I mean bloody hell the other week we had some of them cups on and we couldn't even they were going for like two quid weren't they on on eBay life really hard to move that's me in the picture says swamp picker glass baby looks like a drinking glass 50 to 300 never heard of it no I might look it up later Twitch was the green bug with the wings we've literally just watched always again was that the one of them that was on the back of the fair where they were hung up as prizes and then they ended up being part of the thing. There you go. Anyway so moving on my next question to you is do resellers have categ still have categories that they'll never re reveal or Items that they find that are worth good money that they don't reveal. Or is everything just eventually just discovered and and that's it really? I'm just not sure the whole bolo thing is a thing anymore. I mean, when was the last time we saw a YouTuber, you know, sharing bolos? I mean, the thing he said that he used to do it, he used to make videos.

SPEAKER_00

Flipping wolf.

SPEAKER_01

Flippin' Wolf used to make videos. Well, we used to see a lot of bolo videos, but just not so much anymore.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, but it's like everything else. It goes in wave, but it goes in waves, doesn't it?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I used to I just stand by the fact that because everyone has access to this to an immediate piece of knowledge on an item, not knowledge on everything, but an immediate piece of knowledge of something that they pick up on a store, including the sellers themselves rather than buyers. I just think that kind of negates a lot of the whole bolo thing.

SPEAKER_04

Steve said, let's face it, YouTube is ruined for yourself.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, absolutely, yeah. Totally. Totally ruined it.

SPEAKER_04

Sometimes you don't know something's a bolo until you buy it.

SPEAKER_01

And you get home.

SPEAKER_04

And you get home and then realise that it's I mean, what were those books that you found? The big was it like were they like encyclopedias or something? Certain brand. You found a load when we looked at the modern.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, the folio stuff. Oh, I think a lot of people know about folios, but not every folio is worth money. So you take a gamble or you check it. Some are just worth books.

SPEAKER_04

But again, if you were out and found a folio book, you would instantly be going, Oh, is it a bowl?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you you check it, you check it, depending on the price, or you might just buy it if it was a pound.

SPEAKER_04

So that's what I'm saying. They haven't disappeared. Certain things are still out there that you will like you. What's your thing that you are waiting to find?

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I'm not gonna talk about it because some things you don't talk about. And that's what I said before. Are there things that people still gatekeep?

SPEAKER_04

So you're not telling anyone about what you're looking for.

SPEAKER_01

No, I've already talked about it on the channel.

SPEAKER_04

It's it's only for you, so what difference does it make?

SPEAKER_01

Is it for you or is it to sell? No, it's to sell to make money.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, but it's for you.

SPEAKER_01

No, I'm happy to say it, what it is, because because the chances of you taking away from me is zero almost.

SPEAKER_04

Unless you stood next to him looking in all the same shots.

SPEAKER_01

But what you should look here's here's one that I always look for. Well, if you ever see me in videos looking at CDs, this is what I'm looking for, and I'll share it with you.

SPEAKER_04

He's never found it to this day.

SPEAKER_01

Never found it. I got it off Jason T. Smith. He he told me about it, he broadcasted it. The Disney soundtrack for the Scrooge animated film that featured Jim Carey, the one with the weird face of Jim Carey as Scrooge. If you find that on CD soundtrack, it's worth a lot of money. Don't know why. It just must be very scarce. We obviously didn't make a lot of them. If you find that on CD soundtrack, that that is that is a bolo.

SPEAKER_04

Very specific.

SPEAKER_01

It's very, very specific, and the chances of you finding it are slim. If you ever do find it, let me know. Send me a mail.

SPEAKER_04

It doesn't stop me from looking, though.

SPEAKER_01

I always look though, especially right at Christmas time when charity shops, you know, when charity shops do a shift in their stock, they bring all the Christmas stuff out, right? And they bring out all the Christmas CDs, that's when you've got the best chance, obviously, of finding that CD. So when Christmas time comes, have a look for Disney's A Christmas Carol, the screw the Jim Carrey version, the animated one, and look for that.

SPEAKER_04

Flogger says, ah man, that was my ultimate secret bolo. Thanks for telling everyone, Chris.

SPEAKER_01

But the chance the chances of anyone taking that off you is gonna be sec z almost zero because it's just impossible to find.

SPEAKER_04

It's like getting these first edition Harry Potter books, isn't it? Yeah, yeah. Like hundreds of thousands of pounds.

SPEAKER_01

The chances of you finding one.

SPEAKER_04

You know, it'd be a miracle if you came across one.

SPEAKER_01

The chances are nothing.

SPEAKER_04

Flogger says there's a typical reseller public bolo list that hasn't changed much in the last five years.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. I don't bother with all these bolo lists and stuff. I just I just do my own thing.

SPEAKER_04

Life in the first lane says, how long will it be before someone is streaming live on eBay, live at the boot sale and selling as soon as they pick it up?

SPEAKER_01

People in the States have done this already, not at boot sales, obviously, but I've seen people in the states who go into a goodwill and they pick up items and they sell them there and then before they've even bought them and paid for them. So they'll be live on whatnot, eBay live, whatever, going on the charity shop and finding stuff, auctioning it, and then putting it in their trolley to purchase it to then send it to the buyer. That's what there's it's not happening a lot, don't get me wrong, but I have seen people doing this.

SPEAKER_04

Chris says, have you bought have you seen or bought any tiki mugs lately?

SPEAKER_01

Not bought any for ages, Chris.

SPEAKER_04

I've not got a massive amount of space with them anymore.

SPEAKER_01

No. Well, there's not much space for tiki's. I've got space, but a little bit. I'm kind of cutting down collections at the moment. I'm not selling off any of my tikis at the moment, but I'm definitely I've sold off all my jurors a lot of my Jurassic stuff, and soon to come is a lot of my Back to the Future stuff is going to be sold on on eBay very soon.

SPEAKER_04

I think your last tiki's that you got was was it Christmas when the kids got you your last Killer Clowns one for the set.

SPEAKER_01

That was probably that. I've got the full set of Killer Clowns tiki mugs on it. Jeff says, I remember the old CD carboot Chris found with his own money folded up inside. Yeah, yeah. I was mad that. That might have been my ex-wife's money, but oh well. Oh well, never mind. But it's probably mine. I don't I never remember even putting it in there.

SPEAKER_04

You'd never forget now.

SPEAKER_01

Krillin said a Chris, I think people are doing doing those lines at the Goodwill bins. Oh, it could have been at the bins, yeah. But the one the video that I saw, Rob, was someone in a goodwill that had rails like a standard thrift store, and they were hanging an item, selling it, and putting it in their trolley, and then going off to make the purchase.

SPEAKER_04

Swamp Picker's gotta go. Bye, Swamp Picker. Thank you for joining us.

SPEAKER_01

Thank you, Swamp Picker.

SPEAKER_04

Nothing major said there. We found 14 Monster High dolls in the crook today for £2 each, one sold already for £69.99. Some are going for over £100.

SPEAKER_01

I I I only know really about Monster High dolls because the Mise family buy a lot of them. Like Beth buys a lot of Monster High stuff. So that's only what's turned me on, like switched me on to Monster High dolls, although I hardly ever see them. I think they're a bit like jelly cats now. I think they're they're quite hard to find.

SPEAKER_04

Jeff says in the US we hide money in mattresses, in the UK it's in CD cases.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, obviously, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Antoinette said the original Muppets Christmas Carl soundtrack has sold really well for me, as all the original songs are included. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

You had the The Love We Found or something is missing from it.

SPEAKER_04

Because I that was one of the very first things I ever bought you, which was this the DVD, wasn't it? And it was because it's the same with the DVD with the film, the one he's got has the has that song in it, and then re-releases after it don't have it.

SPEAKER_01

So there you go, that's the little chat about bolos. I just thought it was an interesting chat to have. I remember people used to talk a lot about bolos a few years ago, but it's gone very quiet lately. Obviously, there are still bolos, we've been there talking about them. I I have a couple in my head, but I think I think the whole sort of secrecy of bolos is kind of gone now, isn't it? It's because everyone has access to check things. So, other than the common ones, you're left with things that are up here in your heads. Things that you either know or things that your experience draws you to on a table or in a charity shop. That's they're the things that you can't sort of people can't touch.

SPEAKER_04

The bottom line is we're all spread out all over the world. There's a million charity shops, there's a million car boots, there's a million places you could find one of these things. We're not all in the same place looking at the same one, and it's like you find it and then we've missed out because we would never have been looking there in the first place, you know. So if people are aware of it and manage to find it in their location or where they are, then great.

SPEAKER_01

I'd love to hear of somebody if you find that that CD, the uh the Christmas Carol, the Disney soundtrack. If anyone finds that, let me know. Because I I always look for it, especially at Christmas time, because that's the going to be the easiest time for you to find it. Not easy, but if you ever find one sealed, that's even gonna be worth even more money.

SPEAKER_04

Uh Krillin says the Christmas bolo is Eddie's RV from Christmas Vacation Ornament. Okay. It's not something I'd like like I don't think I've ever seen anything like that. Probably will never find one in the UK. Jeff said, did anyone like the Muppets appearance or the halftime show?

SPEAKER_01

They were on, they were on part of the um the song montage.

SPEAKER_04

Jeff says everyone's checking the value of things on the spot. Blame Steve Jobs and the iPhone.

SPEAKER_01

I wonder what's next. Is it I mean, glasses still haven't taken off fully yet, have they? The smart glasses, but is that the next thing where the images, you know, your your eyes on the glasses, it will project the image. It already does that. Yeah, exactly. When he's in his suit, yeah, yeah. All that you can already do that with a lot of glasses now, a lot of the smart glasses. But will they be will you be able to train them to you know, look at multiple items at once to to find things of value? And will you be able to train it to to check sold sold amounts on a hundred items at the same time and then tell you which one's worth the most most money? That's then a game changer that that's just gonna change everything. And reselling will will go in in a whole different direction.

SPEAKER_04

But it's reselling is just like any other business, it evolves, it has to evolve. If it doesn't evolve, then it'll become stagnant.

SPEAKER_01

It will evolve, and people, us as resellers, we have to evolve with it. Like, even like in the last couple of years, AI has changed a lot of how we do reselling, changed how I list, changes how I even do YouTube and to some extent, how I create images, it changed a lot of things, it's changed how I research. How many, how many times do I Google something now? Probably don't Google much now. I go on Chat GPT or AI, I find you get a better, clearer answer. Not always, there are some things where it's easier to Google it, but it's up there, it's going to overtake Google. So it's changed a lot, right? And if you're not changing with the times, you're you're not going to evolve as a Reese fellow, that's my opinion.

SPEAKER_04

It can't really overtake Google, can it? Because where's AI getting its information from?

SPEAKER_01

Probably from Google. Well, not just Google and multiple sources.

SPEAKER_04

I know I'm pretty sure Google is one of the places. So if Google doesn't exist, then it's a struggle to find.

SPEAKER_01

But the difference, right? You do a search on Chat GPT, for example, you get a full and complete answer, right? You do us that same search on Google, you get a list of websites. So it's different, it's a different kind of answer you get. If you're just looking for the website, go on Google. If you're looking for a rounded complete answer that might include links, then the AI wins, doesn't it?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. But then sometimes I prefer to go on Google. Like if you're shopping for something or you're looking to compare, when you do it on AI, it doesn't necessarily bring you up, like you can't, it doesn't bring you up like a list of images like you do on Google where you know you're searching for iPhone and it'll bring up a list of all the different iPhones, and you can just click that particular one and see where you can buy it from. AI doesn't do that. AI might give you a breakdown and then be like, Do you want me to send you two? Do you and it's a bit more long-winded.

SPEAKER_01

Can be. Can be. So it's going to change. Depends what you look at. AI is going to evolve, it's going to get better, it's going to get more concise, it's going to give you better answers. At the moment, AI can still be wrong on multiple occasions. Like, I've had wrong answers. Yeah, I get wrong answers all the time. So you have to be very careful. There's a little disclaimer at the bottom of Chat GPT at every window, and it says, check, basically, check your answers because AI can be wrong, and it is wrong.

SPEAKER_04

Antoinette says, That's very true, Belle. That's why I'm happy to share. If I find something I've bought turns out to be a hidden gem. Yeah, you're just giving somebody else the opportunity to do the same. You're giving somebody else the opportunity to look in their local area, and maybe they'll find one. See, sharing the love, sharing is caring.

SPEAKER_01

Lisa doesn't use Google as much anymore. But also, she's right, the first thing that comes up now is Google is AI, and that's actually quite useful as well. I've found when I have Googled the odd thing, that AI little blurb at the top can give you a bit more information about what you've searched. Yeah, can be useful.

SPEAKER_04

That Jeff says I recently made several eBay purchases stuff for the truck, and an offer popped up. If I sell an item for $10 or more in the next 60 days, eBay will give me $100.

SPEAKER_01

Bloody hell.

SPEAKER_04

Right, and we got that offer.

SPEAKER_01

That's a good deal. Did you take it, Jeff?

SPEAKER_04

Flip and feel says AI already does what the glass is code. I've taken pictures of boot sales stores and it asked, is there anything of value on the table and it ranks the angle?

SPEAKER_01

Interesting. How reliable is it though? That's that's what I would question.

SPEAKER_04

Gives you a starting point though, doesn't it?

SPEAKER_01

Gives you an indication, doesn't it, of where to look first, I guess.

SPEAKER_04

Flogger says we're reaching a bit of a peak in consumer tech. I think we have almost everything we could possibly want. We've almost maxed out on features that are actually useful.

SPEAKER_01

But just when you think you've maxed out, something else comes out that you never even thought of.

SPEAKER_04

A crash is meant to be coming. Open AI as a company is in trouble and will run out of money.

SPEAKER_01

We'll see, eh?

SPEAKER_04

Chris says trading standards are being have been hitting boots hard up north. Laboo, dolls, fake high-end perfumes, and apple branded items. I mean, that is the other side of reselling, isn't it? It's like how much fake stuff is out there at the moment. It's just ridiculous. Elrevan says so AI is going to evolve as quick as promised. Quick, quite a lot is marketing speak to get more investment for AI. OpenAI of ChatGPT have massively lied about what they can do.

SPEAKER_01

We'll have to wait and see, won't we, Ross? We don't know really at this point, do we? All I know is that where AI is now compared to one year ago is massively different.

SPEAKER_04

But AI is being incorporated into everything, big and little companies. Because I even I know, like in the police, a lot of the new systems that were being brought in were AI-based, where they were teaching the AI to accumulate information from various different places, you know. So instead of you sitting writing reports and having to go searching, you know, they were creating AI-based platforms that were doing it for you to save your time. I know the council have started using an AI-based thing now for doing note writing, you know. So when people are having interviews or conversations and then they have to go and type it all up or write notes down, they can literally set this AI thing going that records it all, documents it, and then plonks it in the right place on the system.

SPEAKER_01

You see, now that's a really good use of AI because that's a proper time saver, isn't it?

SPEAKER_04

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

Because that's what you want from AI, isn't it? You want it to save your time and more accurate than you trying to remember. The results you want, you want them to be better. Like if you ask AI, like I quite often ask AI to write me a concise like email, for example, to a company or something like that. I've had to write write one recently to a couple of legal companies, and I I I plugged in all the information to AI, you know, what it was all about, and it spat out some really, really good emails for me, which I just basically copied and pasted. And uh with a the odd tweak here and there, but m majority copy and pasted, and that's what you want. You want speed and you want a better output than what you could have done yourself.

SPEAKER_04

But it's all about having the right systems that talk to each other and integrate, isn't it?

SPEAKER_01

I I just find it fascinating to see where it's gonna go. It's also it is a little bit worrying about where it's gonna go as well. I think as resellers as as well, that it could honestly really change reselling a lot. So I think we've got to be on our toes with what which direction it goes in, and we just gotta try and move with it. Like, don't get left behind. You've got to move with it. That's what I think.

SPEAKER_04

I feel sorry for some of the older generation who were already a bit behind the times when it comes to technology, and now with AI, they're just like way, way behind.

SPEAKER_01

Like in the first lane, Big Steve says, you know, I'm a purest collector and don't normally pick up the knockoffs. That said, some of the third-party figures are better quality than the licensed ones.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I've seen some really, really good quality figurines and stuff that haven't been legitimate. Lisa says, I use it sometimes to respond to customers on eBay and vintage.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, useful. Jeff says that's what you want, you want from AI. I want from AI is from it not to destroy us. Like the Terminator. Oh well, there you go. That bolo discussion ended up being an AI discussion, which really we could say for a whole other show, couldn't we?

SPEAKER_04

We've been there, done that one.

SPEAKER_01

We've done that chat, and if you've not listened or watched to that one, we have a few AI chats uh in the archive. Catherine is in on Facebook. Hi Kat. Hi so there'll be no podcast next week. We're having a week off as it's the end of our series. So is this the end of the show show? Yeah, end of, yeah. End of the show show. Yeah, uh week off next week, and then we'll be back the following week starting series nine. Cheers, thanks.

SPEAKER_03

I know, I'm so sorry.

SPEAKER_01

Boring you so much. I'm tired. So we're getting ready for the duck race, guys.

SPEAKER_04

This will be the 217th duck race.

SPEAKER_01

217.

SPEAKER_04

Who is going to be the next entrance into the champions?

SPEAKER_01

Why don't you tell people how they enter the duck race, including our Spotify listeners and our Apple Music listeners and our Amazon Alexa users and everyone else?

SPEAKER_04

Last time you told me off because I told them they have to come over to YouTube.

SPEAKER_01

But they do.

SPEAKER_04

But you do. Yeah, if you want to enter our duck race, which is exactly what it says on the tin, it's a virtual duck race with ducks. And you can be in with a chance to win some free prize, like today's free prize, which is what is today's free prize?

SPEAKER_01

Today's prize is the is the a little much shorter, a little flumpy unicorn, unicorn duck plush, unicorn fairy, it's definitely a cheap. And there'll be my favourite sweets in there with it as well. I've just run out as well. So I'll go to the shop and buy some some mini mockies. You if you want to try the mini mockies, then you'll get some.

SPEAKER_04

So if you want to be in with a chance for a little bit of good old fashioned corny fun and to win a freebie, all you have to do is come over to YouTube and once this stream is finished, leave a comment under the video. Whatever you like, whatever you like, preferably something pleasant and not nasty. But even if it is, it'll still get into the duck race, but make you know, or possibly banned. But yeah, that's all you gotta do.

SPEAKER_01

Can I just whisper something to you?

SPEAKER_04

And then at the end of the year, we have the champion of champions. The duck race where you get the chance to win the hamper, and that is everybody that's won one of the duck race prizes throughout the year.

SPEAKER_01

Chris Tana said the sweets do make it worth entering. Should we do a bit of a World Cup faux pas?

unknown

Do we do it?

SPEAKER_04

It's up to you. But you can keep your hand there if you like.

SPEAKER_01

It's in the wrong place.

SPEAKER_04

For everybody listening, Chris is fondling my boob.

SPEAKER_01

Right, well, we've got a bit of an announcement to make. I wasn't actually going to do it today, but because we're not on next week, we might I might just let you know about it today. But I'm gonna give that announcement.

SPEAKER_04

No, it's nothing to do with moving house.

SPEAKER_01

Oh no. I'm going to give that announcement after the duck race. So stick around. So Biggie, so Biggie.

SPEAKER_04

But on the subject of moving house, we possibly have our drink sit now. We possibly have our first house viewing on Wednesday. Possibly. I say possibly because we've had two previous that have cancelled. So we'll see. If it shows up if they we'll see if they show up.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. See what happens. Here we go. Right, we're ready for the duck race, guys.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, why does it have to be me? Because it was me last week. I don't think it was. Yes, it was.

SPEAKER_01

Right, we're ready for the duck race. Here we go. Let me just make sure we're sharing. Oh my goodness.

SPEAKER_04

I'm so sorry, folks. You know, once I start yawning, that's it. I'm gone.

SPEAKER_01

And here we go. And Titch taking an early lead. Titch is in the naked duck, sales of the unexpected up there as well. Also naked. Nothing major. Also coming up the front there. And pumpkin uh pumpkin pickers there as Donald Trump Duck. We saw him at the World Cup at the weekend, didn't we? Taking all the limelight at the front of the uh picture, the trophy lift. Anyway, uh Liz Scotty Dog is taking the lead now with Paul Hillman is at there in second, and Lisa's up there, AMPR, Shire Topps, Deborah Sardine, lots of people at the front of the pack. It's all very, very close towards the back. We've got Jules B who's drifting out to the back. Carboot Keith got no chance. And Tracy Kent has lost the plot and is drifting away, never to be seen again. The Gilded Geese's there, Simon Elliott as well. Now going back to the front of the pack with one minute on the clock. We have Soft Cell, Karen Evans, Jules B's come forward now out of nowhere. Shiatops is still there. Soft cell there. Soft cell slightly pipping it in the lead. Lisa's up there in second place. Mark Hill in third place. Very close with 35 seconds to go. Sharon Island's starting to creep out of nowhere there as well. The Queen Duck. Who else is there? Dorothy Watkinson, stripy duck leading the duck race at the moment. And Pumpkin Picker still there with Trump Duck, Friendy Bentos coming in and out there. Coming up the rear is Deborah Sardine. And up front is Dorothy Watkinson still leading. Dorothy Watkinson is going for this with nothing major in second place. Friendy Bentos in third in G in fourth. And the pack changes with five seconds to go. It's all changed.

SPEAKER_00

Carboot Keith! Carboot Keith was written off and won the voice.

SPEAKER_01

Carboot Keith was nowhere to be seen, and suddenly won tonight's duck race. Well done to Keith.

SPEAKER_02

Well done.

SPEAKER_01

Keith wins. Keith, you need to message me, Instagram or Facebook. Send me a message. I need your full name, your address, and you will be the proud recipient or the proud new owner of this unicorn duck chicken. And you'll also that flies. And you'll also get a packet of mini mocky sweets, my favorite sweets ever. Uh there you go.

SPEAKER_02

That's a wrap.

SPEAKER_01

That's a wrap. Let's just have a quick look at the chat and then we'll give you a little piece of news. Which yeah, which may or may not be of interest to you. Flogger forgot to enter. Jeff says, very sad news from Bad Cat Coffee. Patches, the official spokescat has passed away. Oh no. She was actually a very good cat, and we will miss her. What a shame.

SPEAKER_04

Jeff, how can you break the news to me live on the channel? What you can't tell me that the bad cat has passed away the year that I was coming to meet her.

SPEAKER_02

Oh god.

SPEAKER_04

Oh my god. Oh, I'm so sorry, guys. She was lovely when we used to see her on the videos as well.

SPEAKER_01

Sorry to hear that. Yeah, that's horrible. Why are we only hearing about this now?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Maybe I want to cry now. Make me sad. Sorry to hear.

SPEAKER_01

She's 17 though.

SPEAKER_04

She was at a good age and she's got an amazing legacy with the cafes and everything, but we didn't get a chance to meet her. The founder.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I'm not sure the founder.

SPEAKER_03

No, she is. She's named after her.

SPEAKER_02

Kaboot Keith says first ever duck race. Where where have we gone?

SPEAKER_04

What happened there? No internet connection, apparently.

SPEAKER_01

Oh no, don't tell us this. Are we still okay?

SPEAKER_03

I'll tell you in a minute if we yeah, we're back. No, we're froze.

SPEAKER_02

Are we okay? Are we still there? Are we still there?

SPEAKER_01

Stay still, and everyone will think we're frozen.

SPEAKER_03

I think we're moving again.

SPEAKER_01

We're okay. Right. So just before we finish and just before Chris's final thought, we've we've we've gone and done something, and we say we, it's probably me, but Bell's coming along with the ride. It requires both of us, really.

SPEAKER_04

I mean for the freebies.

SPEAKER_01

We've gone and done something that we've probably said that we would never do again, and that is there will be a second channel. We are making a second channel. Um we're just in the process of building it at the moment. We've got me basically because Bell don't get involved in that.

SPEAKER_04

I have well, I do, I have input on showing me stuff, and I say yes or no. Yeah, you say you say that's shit. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So yeah, we've got a second channel coming, and it should be with us in the next week or two. That's why I was saying, should we tell you about it tonight? Because we it might be up and running, it might be live before the next time we have a Monday night show. So, yeah, it's gonna be called the Living Bucket List.

SPEAKER_04

So, nothing to do with reselling.

SPEAKER_01

Absolutely nothing to do with reselling. It's our other love, it's our other passion.

SPEAKER_04

Making memories.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. And the the tagline, there's a few taglines for it, but the main one is big or small. No, don't we're not going there. Big or small, if it makes a memory, it goes on the list. And we're gonna be vlogging big bucket listings, right? Big trips and stuff, and also small local things that we do to make a memory.

SPEAKER_04

We're gonna look at trying to do like small, medium, large. So we're gonna do small, everyday stuff that doesn't really cost stuff, could be free stuff around here, going for a coffee, just basic stuff, but it makes a memory going somewhere new. And then medium stuff would be things like maybe going to the theatre to watch a show, something that costs money but isn't like super expensive, and then we've obviously got our ultimate bucket list, need to save up, hope we get there before we die, sort of events as well. Yeah, so yeah. Like Chris said, I wasn't I wasn't fully on board, mainly because I really like the idea of going out doing stuff and making memories because I love doing stuff with together and finding new things to do. But I don't want the I don't want videoing and filming to overshadow everything. But you've we've we've kind of come to an agreement that we're going to find a balance, haven't we? Between documenting what we're doing and it not being the sole focus for what we're doing, because the sole focus of this is more of a video diary for us to be able to go back and re-watch and remember like memorable events, but bringing you guys along with us is obviously important too.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So, yeah, so some of the content you can expect is obviously event vlogs, travel vlogs, things to do, thing you know, bucket list stuff, you know, whether it be something that's on our bucket list or something that potentially a viewer could put on their bucket list, or maybe we're gonna travel to somewhere or visit somewhere that someone else might be interested to see. But also, we're gonna do videos on building our bucket list. So, you know, coming up with ideas of places to go and things to do, writing them, physically writing them in our bucket list book.

SPEAKER_04

We bought a book the other day. Yeah, we've got our book, a very fancy pen.

SPEAKER_01

And yeah, we're gonna build it along, and also we're gonna look back and commentate on some of our older sort of trips that we've done, videos that we've made, thing because we've we've been very lucky in the fact that we've done a lot of things that would be on our bucket list. We've already done a lot.

SPEAKER_04

I've pretty much, I've pretty much since being with Chris, ticked off all my bucket list stuff that I had already. So anything that we're doing, we're we're kind of doing now is extra stuff. So I've been really, really lucky that my top sort of trips that I wanted, I've had the opportunity to do.

SPEAKER_01

So I've put the link in the chat. Obviously, there's no content on there yet. We're we're building the channel, we're gonna build the you know how it looks and the branding and stuff, and we're we're planning, we're we're just planning out our first introduction video for it at the moment.

SPEAKER_04

And we are gonna go back over some of our older because we've got some big trips that we've already done that we've vlogged, so it'll be good to add them to this channel and just yeah, go back over them. Go back over them.

SPEAKER_01

So, yeah, if you want to subscribe, please do. There's also an Instagram on there as well. Again, there's no content on there yet, but we will. We're gonna link the two up. So we'll see how it goes.

SPEAKER_04

This has got nothing to do with the fact that I've recently gone through cancer, has it, Chris?

SPEAKER_01

Could be, who knows? You've got you've gotta realize that that life is precious, you don't know how long you've got, and do what you want to do what do the things you want to do, and another phrase on the channel that you're gonna hear a lot is less stuff, more stories. Yeah, and hence the reason I decided also to get rid of a lot of my stuff. Less stuff, more stories. That's what we should be focused on.

SPEAKER_04

Need the money from the stuff to pay for the stories.

SPEAKER_01

Yep. At any minute, any one of us could be gone. And I'm sorry if that's a trigger for anybody, but that's that's life. That's that's the way it is.

SPEAKER_04

Well, it's not it's not only it's not that it's a trigger for people, but this we know, we know there are lots of people who follow this channel that have had similar situations to ours, might not have been the same condition, but similar situations, some not as lucky as we've been, where you've lost people, and I'm sure everybody has that similar outlook on life afterwards, which is you can't waste it, you can't waste time, you know. We you money comes back, time doesn't, does it?

SPEAKER_01

So I still need a car though, Chris. That's the problem. If we need if we're gonna go places, we need a nice car to go places. I'm just saying a bit less of stuff and more stories.

SPEAKER_04

That's a vital stuff. So balance, that's a vital stuff. We need that.

SPEAKER_01

It might be it might be 51% stories, 49% stuff, but at least the balance is in that favour. That's what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_04

There you go. Was walking across the Gibraltar runway weird, definitely a bucket list item for men.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, very weird, yeah. Well, we've done it a lot of times. We've been lucky, we've been there a lot, so yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Less things, more experiences.

SPEAKER_01

Exactly that.

SPEAKER_04

So life can be hectic. Life can be hectic, and you literally the weeks fly by, and sometimes you sit there and go, Oh my god, we're going into another month. What did we even do last month? And you know, you've not done, you've not we used to try when we was in Devon at weekends to find new places to go all the time, didn't we? We'd go, we'd go exploring, we'd go looking. I don't feel like we've done a lot of that recently, and I know we've had a lot going on.

SPEAKER_01

But also, this area is a lot more familiar to us than than what Devon Devon was all new to us when we moved there, but we know North Wales quite well anyway.

SPEAKER_04

And it was just the two of us. Whereas here we're on our own. Whereas here we do have more friends and family visiting, so we have got more time taken up. But I do feel like we let time slip by and we could be doing stuff with that, yeah. And I think having the channel is going to give us an excuse and a reason for that. So it's like it's you you're going to be consciously thinking now, all right, we want some content for the channel, so where can we go? What can we do? And hopefully it'll inspire us to out a little bit more and do more stuff.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, definitely, yeah. Yeah. Okie dokie, guys. I think we'll call it a day there. Just I'll just read out Ross's comment there because you've had a sale to Australia on Vintage as well.

SPEAKER_04

And mine didn't update because Chris There you go.

SPEAKER_01

Because yours not update.

SPEAKER_04

No, because that's why you tried sending me eBay books to the vintage Australia person again today.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know. I just saw them. I just thought they were the same one.

SPEAKER_04

Sold two sets of books. I sold a set on vintage a couple of days ago, which were going to Australia, but it's like you said, it's not updated to say that I've sent them. And then I sent I sent I sold another set on eBay, and Chris packed them this morning. He said, Oh, you've you've sold it, you've sold another set of books to Australia. And I was like, No, I haven't, it's on eBay. And he's like, Yeah, you have. And he'd posted put the label on and everything. And I was like, No, I haven't.

SPEAKER_01

Whose job I didn't send them as they'd be getting.

SPEAKER_04

They'd have been getting to lots of books in Australia.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, it wouldn't have worked, the second scan wouldn't have worked.

SPEAKER_04

But basically, once it reminds you, because mine today was like, Oh, you need to get this sent out, but then it said underneath, if you've already sent it, yeah, just click click it, and then it was fine.

SPEAKER_01

So there you go. Anyway, thank you everybody for watching. Thanks for joining us on our Monday night as well. Appreciate everyone being here. And if you've decided to, and and this, I understand that the new channel is not going to be for everyone, it's absolutely fine. Just only go over there if you're into seeing like what kind of bucket list stuff and places we visit and stuff like that. If you're into that and you think that might be of interest to you, please give us a follow or a subscribe over on the other channel. But obviously, there's no obligation there, don't expect everyone to go over there because many people are just here for the reselling, so that's all good. So, Chris's final thought, and then we will call it a day. And don't forget to, if you are listening on Spotify or Apple Music, please don't forget to hit the download button because that's a bit like subscribing here on YouTube. So if you're listening, hit the download. There's a little button there. That means that you'll be served up with every new episode as and when it's uploaded. So, Chris's final thought, and it's based around our Bolo chat today. So maybe the real Bolo was never actually an item. Maybe it's actually just experience itself. Anyone can scan an item or ask AI what it's worth, but that doesn't teach you when to buy, when to walk away, or how to spot an opportunity before somebody else. Technology changes, but experience is earned. Keep learning, keep adapting, and you'll always have that edge. Take care of yourselves and each other, and we'll see you on the next one.

SPEAKER_04

No, we won't. We'll see you in two weeks. Two weeks. Bye.

SPEAKER_01

Bye. That's it for today's episode. Don't forget to like or make a comment. I always reply to comments. And if you're on YouTube, hit the subscribe button. If you're on one of the audio channels, hit the download button, and we'll see you next time.
