The German Packaging Act Just Went NUCLEAR! | New EU Rules | S08E07

Tonight, we’re talking about one of the most confusing announcements eBay has made in a long time. New EU packaging rules come into force in August, eBay has published guidance, I’ve read it, Bell’s read it, sellers have read it… and I’m still not convinced the average UK reseller knows whether they need to do anything at all. If you’re selling the odd jersey, Funko Pop or pair of trainers overseas, are you now supposed to register in multiple countries? Does eBay International Shipping change anything? Or is this Germany all over again? Let’s try and make sense of it together.
I'm joined by the infamous "Bargain Bell" for this podcast.
Plus the usual honest interactive reseller chat you've become accustomed to!

Welcome back everybody. Tonight we're talking about one of the most confusing announcements eBay have made in a long time. New EU packaging rules have come into force, well, come into force from the 12th of August 2026. eBay's published its guidance, sellers have read it, and I'm still not convinced the average UK reseller knows whether they need to do anything at all. If you're selling the odd jersey, a Funko Pop or a pair of trainers overseas, are you now supposed to register in multiple countries? Does eBay global shipping change anything? Or is this Germany all over again? My name's Chris, aka Carboot Chris, and I'm a full-time UK online reseller. I operate mainly on eBay, but also on vintage and whatnot. I'm bringing you regular podcasts all about reselling with a bit of fun thrown in too. Hopefully to keep you company to entertain you and maybe a little bit of education. Who knows? Welcome to the Everything Reselling Podcast.
SPEAKER_04Pretty much feels like it.
SPEAKER_00Bloody boiling, isn't it? I'm not even wearing my hat today because I'm so hot.
SPEAKER_04And he's got no socks on.
SPEAKER_00But no, babe.
SPEAKER_04He never goes without socks.
SPEAKER_00Forget about the socks, I've got no pants on.
SPEAKER_04That doesn't surprise me.
SPEAKER_00Um anyway, I hope you're all doing good. I hope sales are okay. I hope eBay's been going okay, and your reselling world is all tickety-boo. Actually, it's been a fairly quiet week for me on eBay compared to probably the rest of the year. But Vinted is picking up a fair bit of slack.
SPEAKER_04For audio listeners, Chris is a little bit red. Yes, this is Chris sits in the garden for 30 minutes and ends up looking like he has been to Barbados.
SPEAKER_00Half an hour yesterday, and you know. Why are we why does the light keep going on here when?
SPEAKER_04I don't know, but why am I still so low down?
SPEAKER_00Why are you even sat? You sat right way back there. Come and sit forward a bit for Christ's sake.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, but no.
SPEAKER_00Look like you're an afterthought.
SPEAKER_04Normally, my is my seat still low.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god, here we go.
SPEAKER_04I put it up a minute ago.
SPEAKER_00Beg your pardon.
SPEAKER_04There we go.
SPEAKER_00There we go.
SPEAKER_04I'm gonna say it's shorter than me now.
SPEAKER_00It is boiling in here. Absolutely boiling.
SPEAKER_04So we apologise if you can hear the fan, but we ain't sitting here without it.
SPEAKER_00No chance, no chance.
SPEAKER_04It's like a blooming hot box in here.
SPEAKER_00I know, I know. Uh, anyone who's new here watching, welcome here on YouTube. If you're listening on the audio channels, whether it be Spotify, Apple Music, or any of the others, then welcome to you guys too. I appreciate you listening and downloading the podcast. And hopefully, maybe one day you'll join us here on a Monday night live. You're supposed to say something at that point.
SPEAKER_04Sorry, I wasn't.
SPEAKER_00My natural sort of sentence had come to the end. I wasn't listening to it. You then have to come in with something.
SPEAKER_04I wasn't listening to you, I was reading the comments.
SPEAKER_00Oh for crying out anyway. Belle's gonna say hello to as many people as possible in the chat.
SPEAKER_04What did you even say?
SPEAKER_00Oh give up. Why are you here again?
SPEAKER_04Well, that's why the comment I was looking at Fluffy Muffin put Bell looks like she's glided, glided in at last minute.
SPEAKER_00She pretty much did, yeah. She pretty much did. She glided in five minutes early, realised her top was see-through, and went off to get changed.
SPEAKER_04It wasn't see-through, see-through. It was I had a t-shirt, t-shirt brow underneath a white topped dress, button you could see it, and Chris was like, Okay, don't want to give anybody any more palpitations.
SPEAKER_00Hot flushes all around. Yeah. Alright, one minute, one minute. Belle's gonna say hello to as many people as possible. Off you go.
SPEAKER_04I've got Kevin Hawthorne, Hawthorne, Hawthorne, uh, Karen Evans, Deborah Sardine, Mark Hill, Helen Graham, John Hughes, Carol Harris, Speed Fuck Blitz, Sharon Island, Carolina Hurricanes Champs, Emsden UK, Cheryl Hughes, Fluffy the Muppins, Lizzie's Scotty Dog Craft got him sweating, uh, Rosie Marsden, Lynn Lynn, Chris Tyler, uh Sandringham Sandringham Slipper is that? Peter Fox. Colin Lingus, Cyril Smith. And that's it.
SPEAKER_00Did we even have the music on?
SPEAKER_04No idea.
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah, just about.
SPEAKER_04No idea.
SPEAKER_00That's it. And Peter A's world just jumped in right at the last time.
SPEAKER_04Hi, Peter Ray. Everyone's out sunbathing.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I know.
SPEAKER_04Or actually being able to leave the house for the first time today.
SPEAKER_00What do you mean?
SPEAKER_04Because it's been too warm.
SPEAKER_00No, Cookie didn't get her walk today, did she?
SPEAKER_04You're gonna do it afterwards, aren't you?
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna walk Cookie when we're done on the show tonight because it's way too hot to be walking a dog out in this today.
SPEAKER_04I think tomorrow we'll have to get up early.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, okay, we'll do that. We'll do it in the morning.
SPEAKER_01Oliver Ian's dropped in.
SPEAKER_00Thank you, Oliver Ian. Right, I just need to, before I forget, right, tomorrow at six o'clock, I'm back on eBay Live. I am selling over here, you see here, all my Jurassic Park and world collection. My entire collection is going up for auction on eBay Live tomorrow at six o'clock. If you want to come and pick some bargains up and some of my collection, some really cool stuff in there as well, some unusual items, some stuff we bought from the States and brought back over the years.
SPEAKER_04Birthday and Christmas presents.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah, loads and loads of stuff. If you're interested in having a go at bidding on some of that, I would love you to join me. And if you look on screen right now, there is a scan code. Get your camera out, hover over the scan code on screen, and it'll take you to my eBay live page. You'll see all my shows, all my past shows. But the first one in the corner will be tomorrow's show. You can bookmark it, you can save me as a seller.
SPEAKER_04Come get a piece of carboot Chris History.
SPEAKER_00Come and get a piece of my collection. It's going tomorrow at six o'clock, no matter what.
SPEAKER_04And before anybody jumps in, I have nothing to do with this decision. I've decided Chris.
SPEAKER_00I said I said last week that I was downsizing my collection, and the first to go is the Jurassic Park and World stuff. And then if it goes well tomorrow, I'm gonna I'm gonna then next week maybe or the week after, I might do my entire Back to the Future collection. And there's some good stuff in there too.
SPEAKER_04Oh, look who should pop in at that present moment who blames me every time you say you're selling something.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Mr. Oliver Ian.
SPEAKER_00So yeah, scan the code up here. Is it up there? Scan the code, go and bookmark the show for tomorrow at six o'clock. Please join me. And by the way, we will be done by nine because England's on. So we'll be done by nine and we can all go off and watch the football, okay? It's a deal. See you there.
SPEAKER_04And Oliver Ian, we may we still have an agreement there if Chris Snuff's it, you can deal with it all, but if he sells it all before, then that's not my problem. Just bless for me to have to sort out. It's common for elderly people to start decluttering.
SPEAKER_00That is true.
SPEAKER_04Why are you selling it all?
SPEAKER_00I think it's just time to let it go. And we're down housing, down housing. We're downsizing and we're moving to a bungalow, hopefully. If anyone actually decides to come and have a look at our house and buy it. We're we're wanting to move to a smaller house, so we're gonna have less space. Uh, I'm just not gonna have much in the way of display space, so I'm gonna let it go. And then I can enjoy the money on something else. Maybe we can go on holiday or put it towards our next trip or something like that.
SPEAKER_04Paying towards our not cavalina, I believe.
SPEAKER_00Or I might just stick it in my investments.
SPEAKER_04You can do that if you want.
SPEAKER_00I might do half and half. I might do half in the investments and half for holiday.
SPEAKER_04And this is assuming you sell it.
SPEAKER_00That is true. Well, it's gonna sell, but whether it goes for a pound or not, I don't know.
SPEAKER_04Bungalow is the next step to retirement. It is all we're doing is work, we've moved our retirement plan forward 10 years.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, basically. And we might as well because we're knocking about in this massive house. It's costing us a lot of money to keep it up, the upkeep of the house. It's big and we don't need it, so we might as well just be straight in a bungalow now and be done with it. Just we'll get the we'll get the the ramp on there, we'll get the handles on the outside, and then we're ready to go when we're all fired.
SPEAKER_04But you know what? We moan and moan and moan about how we can't heat this house up and how cold it is. If our house is warm, it means it's hot outside. Because this house takes a lot to get warm, doesn't it? Even normally, even when it's warm outside, you come in here and it's like we've got air con. It's that cool, but it's not today, is it? Today it is very hot.
SPEAKER_00The next few days is gonna be very hot. I think it I think it peaks on Thursday, doesn't it? Thursday's like 30 to 33 degrees or something here in North Wales, and when we're on the coast here, tends to be a bit cooler than most places because we're right on the coast, but it's still gonna be in the 30s here on Thursday.
SPEAKER_04It's like very warm, it's like the desert, that warm, windy thing going on.
SPEAKER_00Krillin's got the right idea. You could buy a timeshare from Florida. Oh, yeah, I would love to. Not maybe not a timeshare, but but I'd love to buy a place in Florida, absolutely love it.
SPEAKER_04I messaged um my lad and his wife because they're currently dying in Florida. They they come back this week, they've been on the honeymoon, and it's been like 36 degrees, so they're absolutely dying. So I I I sent them a screenshot of this week's weather, and on Thursday it's like 30 degrees. I was like, welcome back. This is what you're coming back to, and there's no air con. Yeah, so yeah, they're not happy.
SPEAKER_00Okay, let me do a big thank you to all our members. I can I can get that out of the way so that I don't forget. Sometimes I'm a bit naughty.
SPEAKER_04I do think what does miserling mean?
SPEAKER_00Mizzling.
SPEAKER_04Dep spot, evening everyone in chat. Here we are again. Mizzling down here in Cornwall.
SPEAKER_00That must be like a Cornish word.
SPEAKER_04Is that a Cornish word or have you misspelled something?
SPEAKER_00Mizzling is not a normal word, so sorry, distraction.
SPEAKER_04Peter Fox lives in Ivy Bridge.
SPEAKER_00Wow, we were round the corner from you for a little while. Did you know that, Peter? Peter, did you know that we lived in Mudbury, which is 10 minutes away from Ivy Bridge?
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Went to Ivory Bridge many times, didn't we? Mudbury.
SPEAKER_04Wasn't the address?
SPEAKER_00It might have been classed as Ivory. It was South Hams, wasn't it? But I'm not sure what town it was. Might have been Ivy Bridge, might.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I feel like it was.
SPEAKER_00I'm looking at the address and trying to think. Might have been Ivory Bridge, yeah. But big thank you to all our channel members here on YouTube. They're all going across the screen at the moment. Really do appreciate you all being part of our channel. If you want to join our channel membership, it's $2.99 a month, less than the price of a Greg's large latte.
SPEAKER_04I still maintain Adapter Greg's.
SPEAKER_00But it gets you into our little Discord community, and yeah, it's good fun in there. Our latest member was the Timekeeper who joined us recently. So welcome. Hopefully he's enjoying us.
SPEAKER_04Deb says Mizzling, it's not raining, but mist and drizzle. Mizzle. It's raining in Cornwall.
SPEAKER_00Wow. Don't feel like it would be raining anywhere today.
SPEAKER_04Oliver Rain says it was Clusters. I'm assuming he's saying that it was Cluster's Ivory Bridge. I'm sure it was because it was literally the local town, really, wasn't it?
SPEAKER_00Peter Ray said he's been processing stuff to sell the last few months and selling lots, is hoping to be downsizing in a few months. Oh, you're selling up as well, Peter. Right.
SPEAKER_04Deb said earlier I found some absolute banging bargains to take off to my next big vintage retro fair. You have to tell us what you've got.
SPEAKER_00Carolina Hurricanes, that is Jeff, by the way, for anybody who doesn't know. You're celebrating. From Saturday's video, I'm dying to know how Doug Flutie's last name is slang for something rude in the UK. Yeah, it is, Jeff. You know what a flute is? In the UK, a flute is a woman's.
SPEAKER_04Well, it can be a word for that.
SPEAKER_00It is, basically. It is. So a flutey. It's a woman's ladybits.
SPEAKER_04Oh, is that why you asked me the other day? Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I just wanted to make sure that I was actually getting it right before I put it out as we could just both be on the wrong wavelength. No. It is though, isn't it?
SPEAKER_04I've never heard that, says the timekeeper.
SPEAKER_00Flute is a ladybits, Danny.
SPEAKER_04You're flute.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you're flu-y. That's what it is.
SPEAKER_04It has many names, but that's one of them.
SPEAKER_00How can you not know that? Uh okay.
SPEAKER_04Cheryl says they've just had the most horrendous thunderstorm. I'd quite welcome one of them at this present moment in time.
SPEAKER_00I think we are getting some this week though, aren't we?
SPEAKER_04Could do with some now.
SPEAKER_00Maltronics would also rather have a Greg's. Oh, you don't know what you're missing out. What you could do is you could have both. Go get yourself a Greg's, join the membership, and come and join us and enjoy your drink at the same time. Paul Hillman's popped in. Welcome to you.
SPEAKER_04Just went back through the chat.
SPEAKER_00Krillin said, has anyone had the curiosity to look up ticket prices for the World Cup? I believe a lot of prices for the tickets was like £1,000 in UK pounds. But I guess it depends at what point you bought the tickets. I think if you buy them, if you'd have bought them early doors, like when they first went on sale, I don't know if you had to go into like a lottery system to get the tickets, but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have been a thousand pounds at that point, but probably are now.
SPEAKER_04Just going back, Krillin said that we look like lobsters. He might look like a lobster. I shouldn't look like a lobster because I've not been outside. I've been avoiding the sun because after having my radiotherapy, I've been told I can't get this area in the sun. So I've just not bothered going out.
SPEAKER_00Sharon Island says I never knew I had a flutey. Well, you do now. You do know. Our ventoras says, I suspect the packaging thing will be like GPSR. I don't see it's had any impact on others that have gone to jail yet. Nope, not yet. But we'll see, eh? Peter Fox supports Plymouth Argyle. Been to the car boot at Plymouth Argyle a few times.
SPEAKER_04I went with quite a few people that were Argyle fans when I was in a talkie station.
SPEAKER_00There we are at the bottom of the chat. So please come and join me live on eBay tomorrow at 6 pm. Don't leave me there with one pound bids. Please come and come and take some cool stuff off my hands.
SPEAKER_04Did you see Deborah's joke?
SPEAKER_00Uh no. Oh yeah, I did, yeah. Sorry, I didn't put it on.
SPEAKER_04I don't know why they call it a bungalow.
SPEAKER_00Because the roofs are low or something?
SPEAKER_04Because they bungalow roof on the room.
SPEAKER_00That's it. Yeah. Oh my word. I know it's bad that.
SPEAKER_04She's here all night for anybody that wants any more jokes.
SPEAKER_00Limelight says, Chris, if you do another reseller news episode, you should include Cheryl UK Vinticella, Epic Sports Day race. Oh, I'll have to look that up. Can you send me a link to it? Can you send me a link when you get a second? Lisa said I switched Germany off and Dunhouse. What? Sorry. I switched Germany off, then Dunhouse started getting the odd sale to somehow started getting the odd sale to Germany. Weird, isn't it? Oh Mel, what's this? Maltronics 20 quid.
SPEAKER_01Thank you very much.
SPEAKER_00Wow. You sent us a super chat for £20. Thank you so much. You did not have to do that, honestly. Thank you very much. I was only messing about with you before, you know.
SPEAKER_04Right. What have you done now?
SPEAKER_00No, because he was saying he'd rather have a Greg's than join the membership. So I said get a Greg's and have the membership. You could have had six months in our members' group for that, Maltronics.
SPEAKER_04You could have had a lot more Greg's.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that is true. But that's very kind of you. Thank you very, very much. I'll treat Belle with that. What can I treat you to? Greg's. Silly question, wasn't it?
SPEAKER_04Hey, look.
SPEAKER_00I'll get Bella Greg's with that.
SPEAKER_04Look.
SPEAKER_00And I'll pocket the rest myself.
SPEAKER_04For any of you that does that that didn't follow our journey while we were going through the last seven months of breast cancer, Greg's is what got me through it. Okay. I can tell you now, after every appointment, every devastating bit of news, Chris went, should we go get a Greg's? We kept them in business for the last seven months.
SPEAKER_00We could have made an advert. I said to you, didn't I? In the early days, I said to you, we could have made an advert for them where when you have a serious, like we were having serious shit going on at the hospital, like meetings telling you that you've got to have radio therapy, meetings telling you that you've got to have a second operation. And we were coming out like you know, pretty down and devastated about stuff. And the first thing was, should we get a Greg's? And we could have made an advert out of that and made got Greg's on board.
SPEAKER_04Well, I tell you what, it was better than becoming an alcoholic, which was the next option.
SPEAKER_00Rosie still never had a Greg's. Oh my word.
SPEAKER_04Look, we can't be friends anymore, Rosie. If you if you're gonna keep maintaining not doing that, we we just can't be friends no more.
SPEAKER_00Sort it out, sort it out, Rosie. Timekeeper, who is our latest member of the of the um Discord group on YouTube, says it's been very useful being in the group. Well, that's good to know. Good to know. I've seen you've been very active in there, which is great. That's the idea behind it.
SPEAKER_04And if you ever find it not useful, go by, Greg's.
SPEAKER_03Don't tell me to do that.
SPEAKER_00I Ross Auraventa said, I suspect with the EU packaging regulations, it's aimed at companies like Timu, which Germany are very anti. With any law, you need to look at its intention and then how it's enforced. Yeah, and then it the byproduct is it it's also affects small sellers who might only send one or two packages in a year to a certain country, which is crazy.
SPEAKER_04Angel Delight has joined us. Hello, and she's just come back from watching Toy Story 5. We debated watching it yesterday, but we were too tired.
SPEAKER_00Too hot, too tired, too tired, too hot.
SPEAKER_04Just couldn't be bothered.
SPEAKER_00Peter, how did you guess?
SPEAKER_01How did you guess?
SPEAKER_04Greg's yum yums are life. Do you know what? I will say I don't think I've had one. I know what they are, but they're basically twisted donuts, aren't they?
SPEAKER_00Yum yums. Might be sugar on. I'm not a donut.
SPEAKER_04I'm not a donut fan. That's the problem.
SPEAKER_00Rosie's gonna go tomorrow for Greg's.
SPEAKER_04I want photographic evidence. What are you gonna get, Rosie? Are you a tea drinker or a coffee drinker? If you're a tea drinker, Chris lives off matcha from there. Do you know it's that warm? I can't keep my glasses on my face, they just keep slipping down my nose. Yeah, the matches are nice from there, apparently, says Chris. Yeah, a cold drink.
SPEAKER_00Right, let's move on to the main subject. So today, eBay sent out an email to all its business users, I assume just business users, because it only applies to business sellers, about the new EU packaging regulations. Pretty much similar or the same as the German Packaging Act. Remember when we had all that kafuff a couple of years ago? Well, it's probably about three, three-ish years ago. I made a video on it. I've made several videos on it. I even had people from, I think it was Liz N Zero, who is eBay's official partner for packaging acts like this one. They came on and did a show to talk to us about it, cleared a few things up, but also left a lot of things still uncertain. Because in our community, like we are predominantly small, small or micro businesses in the UK. Most of us are micro businesses, so very, very small. Sole traders and probably the majority. And some of us are limited companies as well.
SPEAKER_04But it's too freaking warm. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_00It's not gonna help. It's warm air. But the majority of us are micro businesses. So it kind of The byproduct us, it affects all of us. Whether there'll be any enforcement in it, who knows? Who knows? We've not seen any enforcement or have not heard of any for the German packaging act. But let me go through it. I'm not promising to give you any answers, but we'll try and dissect it a bit. You give us your opinions in the chat. So the basic explanation, I've got a lot of this written down. The basic explanation of the EU packaging, what is it? Where's my thing gone? I've lost it. Whatever the abbreviation is. I'm just going to call it the EU packaging law. So it's it is what it says, as in it's about the packaging of an item and not the item that you're selling itself. So even if you sell like a secondhand football shirt, the issue that they're targeting is the mailing bag, the box that it's put in, the tape, the labels, the bubble wrap, and basically the packaging that it's used to be sent in. And the EU are basically saying that whoever puts that packaging into another EU country is contributing to the recycling and waste costs in that country. And so basically, they want the person who first puts that packaging on an item and sends it into an EU country to make a contribution to that cost. And that's what these packaging companies like Lizenzero, and there's there is others, by the way.
SPEAKER_03Is it PPWR?
SPEAKER_00That's it. PPWR, thank you, Andrew. These companies come in, you pay them a fee, and it covers whatever recycling costs, roughly. You basically put an estimate in of how much recycling you're going to send. I I've been paying for the German Packaging Act for the last three years since it started. The company I use it costs me less than £10 a year. And that covers me for quite a fair bit of packaging. So I get covered for cardboard, polybags, seller tape, that kind of thing. But it covers me for way more than I would ever send into Germany. Because I only send via GSP. But the important thing is GSP do not cover you for what are you doing? You can't do that, babe. You can't do that.
SPEAKER_04Fluffy said I could.
SPEAKER_00GSP do not cover you for any of the packaging acts. People think that just because you use GSP, that it's covered by them, it is not. It says it in their help desk pages. It doesn't say it in the EU wording that they did today, but I'm sure once they finalise all their FAQ and stuff, it will probably say it in there. Unless, of course, they decide to come to some agreement with the EU about this. But yeah. So basically, the one of the awkward bits is the word producer. So that doesn't mean the manufacturer of the packaging itself. It basically means the person who packages the item is the producer of that waste. So you're causing the waste to go into that country. So yeah, let's break it down a bit and let's go back into the chat because I've got a lot to get through here.
SPEAKER_04There's nothing in the chat.
SPEAKER_00There is, I can see people chatting.
SPEAKER_04I think everyone fell asleep listening to that.
SPEAKER_00Well, there's 94 people that tuned in to listen to the packaging lore.
SPEAKER_04Fluffy told me to spin my chair on and face the fan, and she said I have to turn back round like the voice when we win.
SPEAKER_03Oh right.
SPEAKER_04And I want to visit Queenie, he says they've got a Grex at Leeds train station that's open till midnight at the weekend.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_04That'd do me.
SPEAKER_00Andrew says, Am I right in thinking that we need to cover the packaging in an item as well? I don't know what that means, Andrew. I don't understand. Can you clarify that one? We we need to cover the packaging in an item. Don't understand.
SPEAKER_04In an item, so as in like if you put screwed up newspaper, is that what it means?
SPEAKER_00No idea.
SPEAKER_04In it.
SPEAKER_00Don't know.
SPEAKER_04Or is it if it's a pre-packed item, like a new box something, do you have to cover the cost of packaging?
SPEAKER_00You you don't pay it on a per item basis anyway. You basically estimate how much you're going to sell into Germany, for example, or France or Spain. You know, it might be one kilogram's worth of boxes and one kilogram's worth of plastic and one kilogram of cellar tape. You know, you're never going to probably sell that much, but there you go.
SPEAKER_04He says, i.e., Lego has polybags in their box. So yeah, so the packaging that's in a box.
SPEAKER_00No, that's not your responsibility because that the that that if you go back to the producer is the person who first put the packaging on an item. So that would be Lego. Lego, they first put that packaging on. But when you put that Lego in a box, the box that you use, or the polybag that you use, that is then your responsibility.
SPEAKER_04Uh Lisa says, Do we have to pay for each country?
SPEAKER_00I believe so. Yeah. That's the complicated bit. It gets super, super complicated. You basically have to go through each country and you have to. I think on Lizenzero, which is eBay's partner, I think you can do a little, you can go onto their website and you can say which countries you want to send to, which really via GSP is all of them. So you'd have to do each one separately and see how much it would cost you. It may it may not cost you anything in some of the countries. That's not all countries charge, I believe. It's very, very complicated.
SPEAKER_04Cheryl says, what happens if you post unknowingly?
SPEAKER_00Unknowingly. So you accidentally send something to Spain.
SPEAKER_04You pretend you don't know about.
SPEAKER_00Well, they're saying that at some point it's going to be enforced. You could be a fine or something like that. But as of yet, right, we're three years plus into the German Packaging Act. I've never heard of anybody who's been fined for sending something for Germany and not being registered with the German Packaging Act. I'm registered, so I can't speak for me, but I've not heard of anybody in the community ever say I've been done or I've had a warning or eBay have told me off or anyone, anything like that.
SPEAKER_04How reventive does that sound very reasonable for Germany, Chris? There are companies trying to get 500 euros off.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you've got to be very careful. Some companies are just ripoff merchants, but it all depends on your weight of waste that you estimate. I just put the lowest amount because what maybe sends like three, four, five items a month if it's a good month. How much waste is that going to create? Not a lot. Like you're talking less than 10 kilos of total waste, probably.
SPEAKER_04Bluffy says when an item goes by a GSP, do you know what country it goes to?
SPEAKER_00Yes, because it'll have a code on it. The end of that code has a two-digit left sort of code, and you can tell what it is. Most of them are self-explanatory, but the odd ones are a bit weird. Yeah, you can look it up. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Santa says, if you all will kind of send me $29.99, I will handle all your German shipping needs. By handle, I mean do nothing get set count one. Elvin says, Yeah, it's hardly anything to the EU, maybe a few months issue say.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04And Bab says, How much did it cost? And is it for each country?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you have to look at it from a country by country basis, which is ridiculous, really. It's ludicrous. For Germany, I pay less than £10 a month. I think it was about 11 euros, so it's very cheap.
SPEAKER_04A month or a year?
SPEAKER_00A year. That's for a year, by the way. Okay, so I didn't mention it earlier.
SPEAKER_04No, I thought you said a month, then that's why I was clarified.
SPEAKER_00I might have I might have said month. It's not, it's a year. But yeah. But yeah, you have to look at it from each country. It's it's almost impossible for us to do, you know, to be honest with you.
SPEAKER_04Cheryl says, so do we have to do something about this now? Haven't seen anything about it anywhere. Will they still deliver?
SPEAKER_00Are you a personal seller, Cheryl? Are you a business seller? Because if it's personal, if it comes from a private seller and it's not a business transaction, you're not included in this. It doesn't matter. None of the packaging act laws apply to private sellers selling into the EU. It only applies if you're a business selling into the EU.
SPEAKER_04Flogger says, Does GSP cover the German policy? Since it's eBay sending it overseas, it's possibly they handle it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I said that before. The eBay GSP do not cover any of the packaging policies as it stands right now. What they should be doing is looking at a way to include it and to have a deal with the EU something, because at the moment, no, it doesn't. Contrary to popular belief, people always believe GSP covers it. It do not. And it says it in G in the help desk and the help pages on eBay that GSP does not cover the German policy. And that means almost certainly right now it won't cover the EU policy either.
SPEAKER_04Andrew says, which company do you use?
SPEAKER_00You'd have to you'd have to message me, Andrew, because I don't know off the top of my head, but I can search for it in the emails.
SPEAKER_04Bluffy says, if you want compliance, they need to make it simple.
SPEAKER_00Exactly that. Exactly.
SPEAKER_04Show as a private seller.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so it doesn't apply to private sellers.
SPEAKER_04Krillin says, This sounds like our TV show, The Sopranos, Mafia, waste removal. Bab says, Do you know if you will sell anything abroad?
SPEAKER_00You don't know, do you? How do you know if you don't know, you go off your averages, don't you? You you think to yourself, on average, how many items do I sell into the EU per month? Right? If it's one or two, you've got to question whether it's worth it. And if eBay actually follow through, because in eBay's email today, the threat was that if you don't register and put a registration number into your eBay settings to say that you've registered for the packaging act in all these different countries, the threat from eBay is that you will be switched off and not visible in those countries. A bit like the other legislation that we were talking about, a bit like also the country of origin nonsense that came out where they said that if you don't put it in, we'll send you a message or we'll you'll not be visible. That's what eBay are threatening. That and it is a bit of a threat, isn't it? It's basically saying if you don't sort this out, we're not going to show your items in the countries in the relevant countries. They as far as I'm aware, they never did that with the German, the German packaging act.
SPEAKER_04Peter was asked a couple of times saying, Is are they in the duck race?
SPEAKER_00If you commented on last week's video, Peter, then you'll be in it tonight. But I have AI put all my names together, so I don't actually see them all myself. So let me look through some of my notes on this now.
SPEAKER_04Lisa says, Is there a way of finding out what companies do it so I can switch them off? Countries is that supposed to be what countries do it so I can switch them off.
SPEAKER_00Uh, I wouldn't switch anything off right now, Lisa. I'll come to that in a minute. Personally, I won't switch anything off because right now it doesn't apply until the 12th of August. So there's no point switching anything off right now. And even after then, all eBay are saying that they're going to do is not show your items in those countries if you're not registered with them.
SPEAKER_04So you show them whether you turn them off or not, you're not going to get seen.
SPEAKER_00So I personally wouldn't turn them off.
SPEAKER_04Just in case they slip through the net, and you can get them there.
SPEAKER_00But it's your choice at the end of the day. Potentially, they're saying that you can get fined for stuff like this, but never heard of anybody who gets fined.
unknownMr.
SPEAKER_04Crummy is joined and says, What's your registration number, Chris? Ask him for a friend.
SPEAKER_00It wouldn't work anyway, Mr. Crummie, because you only use it once. So, anyway, why are why are sellers confused, myself included, right? Because eBay's eBay's communication, as per usual, is very, very poor on this fact. Just like the German Packaging Act, it was very poor. So, some of the questions that I kept picking up as I was going through stuff is does this apply to secondhand goods? Does it apply if I only use eBay international shipping or GSP? Is eBay the exporter, or am I still the responsible? Because there's some arguments to say, well, if it goes through GSP, eBay sometimes repackage an item. So therefore, eBay then at that point, if they repackage an item, then they're responsible, not you. Do I need to register in every EU country? We've covered that. Probably yes. Is there a sales threshold? Not that we're aware of. So yeah, there's a lot of things that we don't really understand. And as per usual, eBay haven't really covered like it any in any great detail. I remember because France have had this in for quite a while, almost as long, probably as what Germany have had. They've also had a packaging act. But when I first looked at France to see what this script was there, pretty sure France had like a threshold. They said that if you send over a certain amount of waste into the country, then you have to register. If it's under a certain amount, then you don't have to register. But I believe that's also changed now, possibly as well at France. So it's all very, very complicated. So when you're talking about the Germany comparison, we saw all this with the German Packaging Act, where a lot of sellers thought that GSP covered them and it didn't. Even though most people have just carried on selling into Germany via GSP without a registration number, and absolutely nothing has happened to them. Some sellers registered, some blocked to Germany, like what Lisa was saying there, but loads just left Germany switched on, and nothing obvious happened. That doesn't mean they were compliant at all, it just means real-world enforcement is messy, confusing, and almost impossible to enforce, really. Isn't it?
SPEAKER_04For now it is.
SPEAKER_00For now, very difficult to enforce. Uh and when we're talking about sole traders, like I'm a sole trader, some of you are limited companies, but I can only really talk about sole traders because that's that's the thing I understand. Like, as for me, like if I was to sell five items a year to France, three to Italy, two to Spain, and one to Belgium, I mean, am I realistically expected to register for 20 plus countries in the EU? And if each of them is, say, £10 a year to register with them, and some countries I'll never even send to, it just feels a bit ridiculous, doesn't it? Even Bell doesn't Bell, are you even following what even the point of this is? It's ridiculous, isn't it?
SPEAKER_04My brain has gone off in a few different little corners, but yeah, I've gonna listen what you're talking about.
SPEAKER_00Even Bell thinks it's ridiculous. Um, you know, we're not Amazon, as a small seller, we're not Amazon, we're not selling sending thousands into countries, we're not like Timu, which I can understand, like really, in my opinion, it should be a level of turnover, a level of sales. You know, if you make a thousand sales a month into a country, then you have to register, but anything less, then you know, GSP should probably cover it.
SPEAKER_04Lou says, I'm guessing this applies to live shows too, and international buyers.
SPEAKER_00It will apply to any sales into the EU. And it's not just eBay, by the way. This is any sales on any platform. It's that the this packaging law is not an eBay thing, this is an EU law, so anybody else sending into the EU are gonna have to think about this, and it's even worse if you live in the EU, it's even worse for them because they'll have to do it between EU. They'll have to do it between the EU countries, they'll have to register to sell to each other. But you've almost got no choice because you probably sell sell quite a lot to fellow EU countries, whereas we're not in the EU, so there's less sales probably going on there just naturally.
SPEAKER_04I like just sole trade or is that related to Voodoo? Flogger says it would be nice to easily see which country your parcels are going to through GSP. It's kind of hidden now. I think that's useful information to have as a seller to make decisions on international.
SPEAKER_00You can't, it's pretty easy to see where you're sending to. Just look for that code at the end in the address. You know, you can you can even go through your order page, your 90-day orders, and just you can see which ones are GSP because they're highlighted differently. And then you can see the codes quite easily, and you'll be able to see which ones are which. Yeah, you can you can pretty much narrow it down, even if it's just you can scan through and you can see, you can tell the difference between an a GSP order and a normal one.
SPEAKER_04Class says they can't remember the last time they sold to Germany, they used to get a lot of sales for that.
SPEAKER_00I still get quite a bit because I sell a lot of jerseys, you know that. And Germans like American football, basketball, they like those American sports. So, other than the USA, Germany is probably the second country that's outside the UK that I'll send jerseys to. That's the reason why I decided to pay for the German packaging act, because it was a fairly small amount of money. And I thought, you know, I don't want eBay to like restrict any of my sales to Germany because I do get quite a few there.
SPEAKER_04Luffy says, why can't eBay pay it?
SPEAKER_00Well, they should do really. They should, if they've got anything about them, eBay should be like, they should have a deal for GSP sellers, even if it's based on a threshold of number of parcels that goes, whereby, you know, they have a deal and they pay a fee, you know, to the EU, whoever takes that money, each country's packaging laws. Yeah, that would be the easy answer, wouldn't it? It doesn't answer the question for all the other platforms. What about Etsy sending to Europe? What about Deepop sending to Europe? What about vintage vintage's not really happening at the moment with Europe, but you know.
SPEAKER_04Lou says I've not seen any cons from whatnot about it either. It's odd how sparse the information available is on these platforms.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. eBay's the only one really who puts out press releases about this stuff. I never saw anything from Whatnot in regards to it. Nothing at all. Like back in the day with any of these regulations, we never heard anything.
SPEAKER_04Sharon says apparently from today, Vintage is now connected to Australia.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I saw that as well. Yeah. Yeah, definitely.
SPEAKER_04So not the EU, but gone to Australia. Peter says he remembers a charity shop run you did in Ivory Bridge a long time ago. Yeah, it was because it wasn't it wasn't great for charity shops, was it in Ivy Bridge? We only went there a handful of times, considering how close we lived to it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_04We didn't go very often.
SPEAKER_00So just to conclude on this, and I realise we haven't given you any solid answers, but that's because there are no solid answers on this just yet.
SPEAKER_04It's a little grey.
SPEAKER_00It's very, very grey. If you remember how long, even now, people find it hard to get their head around the German Packaging Act and what's included and what's not, and who it applies to. So here's my sort of conclusion about what should sellers like us do now. Firstly, don't panic. Right? Don't immediately turn off Europe. I wouldn't, anyway, if it were me, and I'm not going to touch it. Yeah, don't, and equally so, I personally wouldn't go rushing off registering for 20 plus countries in Europe. Just let it settle. Let wait for eBay to give us hopefully some more clarification on what we need to do and who needs to do it. Check your souls over the last 90 days. If you can find information over the last year. Have a look how much you're actually selling into the EU. Is it even going to be worth you even thinking about this any further? If you're selling, if you're selling like less than well, if you're just selling a few a handful into the EU countries, then there's absolutely going to be no point. Really, there isn't. And keep an eye on eBay announcements between now and the 12th of August. They need to really clarify this stuff. It's very, very confusing. And what happens is that everybody just interprets the laws, interprets eBay's press release differently. And they come to their own conclusions and they decide whatever they decide based not on facts, but just based on how they want to read something. And that's just what happens. It's it's only natural. So yeah. I would I would basically not do anything right now on it. That's my thought.
SPEAKER_04And it doesn't help much, but Logger says he's got deja viewers like GSP all over again. I'm sure it'll be fine. Always sounds complicated to start, but yeah, yeah. Andrew says, oh, Lizen Zero wants 300 euros for Germany.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's not that much, Andrew. Lizen Zero are more expensive than some of the other companies. If you're sending the minimum amount into Germany, Lizen Zero, I think, comes in at somewhere between 20 and 25 euros a year. Last time I checked it. So you need to check your settings and what you're actually declaring on that. It's definitely not 300 euros for someone like us, anyway. Yeah, and then I found another company that does does it for about 10, 11 euros for the minimum amounts of waste. So yeah.
SPEAKER_04Jeff said that Tracy and Bad Cat Coffee went were at Carolina KittyCon over the weekend. So Facebook's like a Comic Con. All things all things cats.
SPEAKER_00Interesting.
SPEAKER_04Loads of fun, many latte sold.
SPEAKER_00Brilliant.
SPEAKER_04That sounds fun.
SPEAKER_00That sounds great.
SPEAKER_04That is if you're a cat lover, I guess.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Babs says I probably sell one a month to the EU. See, it's not going to be worth you doing anything, Babs. Yeah, I would not register for anything at that rate. I'm not going to register, probably not for anything, I don't think. I'm just going to wait and see if I'm already with Germany. That's my important marketplace in the EU, so I'll keep the German Packaging Act. I want to I want to make sure I don't get limited on that. But the rest of the countries, you know, I'll wait and see. And if eBay decide they're not going to show my items in Italy or they're not going to show my items in, you know, France or Spain or Portugal, then it's not a great loss for for most of us, I don't think.
SPEAKER_04Rachel's just come in. I'm thinking with the with the I can't even talk now. This has had the heat too much. Rachel's just come in, and with your conversation, she probably thinks she's talking about the World Cup.
SPEAKER_00Oh, right. You'll have to go back, Rachel, because this has been this is heavy. Yeah, it is. This is heavy stuff. On a hot sweeping. We're talking about the the email that you probably got from eBay today in regards to the EU packaging act laws that are coming in in August. That's what we've been we've been breaking it down and trying to understand it. And basically, what I've come to the conclusion is right now is to do nothing. Just hang fire, sit tight and wait and see for some more information.
unknownMr.
SPEAKER_04Thomas says if you have a Reg number for Germany, how do we eBay know you don't have them for the other countries?
SPEAKER_00I think at some point they're going to change their settings page and they're probably going to put every country on the settings, and you'll you'll have a box to fill it in, just like the Germany one. I think France is on there as well. So I think eventually they'll have all the EU countries on there.
SPEAKER_04Rachel says she doesn't read email, she waits for people like you to break it down for her.
SPEAKER_00Well, you wouldn't have missed much anyway, because eBay didn't really tell us very much at all. As per usual.
SPEAKER_04I don't think I can last much longer then.
SPEAKER_03Why?
SPEAKER_04Because I'm absolutely swell to it.
SPEAKER_00It's not that bad in here.
SPEAKER_04Probably.
SPEAKER_00Well you can leave me to it if you don't want to be in here.
SPEAKER_04It's not I don't want to be in here, I'm just pre-warning you. Just before I pass out.
SPEAKER_00Go and stick your head in the shower or something. So is this likely something we'll have to pay for to oh, almost certainly there'll be a charge, yeah. Unless some countries may have their own rules where below a threshold you might not have to pay, you might not have to register. But it's country by country right now. It's not EU as a whole. So you've got to look at each country and decide whether it's worth it or not, basically.
SPEAKER_04Bells call HR. I know, I'm pretty sure it's too hot to work in here. Will England win the World Cup this year? No.
SPEAKER_00Uh no, I very much.
SPEAKER_04That is an answer we can probably give you. We're quite certain to.
SPEAKER_00They'll bottle it. If if they get towards the end, they'll bottle it. But to be fair, they did play very, very well in their first game. We'll see how tomorrow's game goes.
SPEAKER_04We've not seen enough of them yet to make a decision.
SPEAKER_00What time are we on? Is it duck race time?
SPEAKER_04It's 10 minutes.
SPEAKER_00Should we do the duck race? Because we're um we're probably not gonna, as you can tell from Bell, we're probably not going to last the full three hours that we normally do.
SPEAKER_04I can't do that. Um literally gonna the second we go off air, I'm going getting in a cold shower.
SPEAKER_00Babs says, I must admit when I got the message, I did think here we go again. Exactly, Babs. Yeah, I thought exactly the same when it came in today. I thought, oh my great Christ, what a waste of time. What a waste of time.
SPEAKER_04Argentina could do well. Okay, let's this will be the 214th duck race.
SPEAKER_00Oh, that's a lot of duck races, isn't it? Let's share the screen. Let's get this duck race done. Oh, the prize for the duck race. Wow, what a prize this is. Not only have you got a unicorn duck, an amazing unicorn duck, you've got a whole kilogram of sweeties. Look at that. A whole kilogram of sweets. Can we say where they came from?
SPEAKER_04They were part of Christy's father's day present of Cooker.
SPEAKER_00Belle bought me, or Cookie bought me two bags of these, two kilos of sweets. I'm sorry, I can't eat two kilos of sweets.
SPEAKER_04If I'm honest, I thought I was only getting one kilo, so I was quite impressed when two came.
SPEAKER_00Did you buy them on TikTok?
SPEAKER_04I did my own.
SPEAKER_00You know these TikTok shops.
SPEAKER_04Oh yeah. It didn't have the sweets in that bottom bottom.
SPEAKER_00Two key oh, sorry, one kilo of fizzy jelly mix, and you get the unicorn dog, because there ain't no way I can eat two kilos kilos of duck.
SPEAKER_04Probably the crispy duck race.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, probably, yeah. So, anyway, let's crack on with the duck race. Do you want to tell everybody how you join the duck race, especially people listening who might never have joined us on YouTube?
SPEAKER_04Well, you don't know what you're missing out on if you're only listening and not seeing it. It is what it says on the tin. It is a virtual duck race. And if you would like to be part of it to win a free, yes, free free. How many hints did you need?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but I was busy doing something else.
SPEAKER_04Surprise, then all you've got to do is come over to YouTube and when the stream has finished, just leave a comment under the video, and that will automatically get you into next week's duck race. And then at the end of the year, if you win a race, you get entered into the champion of champions duck race that we have just before Christmas or after Christmas, one of the two. For a for uh usually it's a hamper. We do like a little hamper that we send out to you. Oh, yeah, that's how you do it.
SPEAKER_00Okay, we're ready. Here we go. We've got 50 ducks in the race today. A lot of people want their hands on those sweets. You reckon?
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Right. Are we ready? The ducks are all lined up, ready to go. And they're off. The duck race kicks off. It's duck race number 214 of 2026. Emsden UK takes an early knee lead with Sarah B and Angel Delight close up front as well. Cyril Smith's there as well. AMPR is close at the top there. Phil Higginson's coming forward in the middle of the pack. Cloud9 Allotments is there. And Sarah B is currently leading with the pink duck. We've got Johnny Rotten closing in there, and Phil Higginson, Sarah Stevens is there as well. Sarah's allotments and Shabba's coming through the middle. Chris Tyler with the police duck. Sarah B still leading with the pink duck. Chris Tyler takes a lead and drops off immediately. Helen Graham now leading with the naked duck. Carol Harris up there with the naked duck as well. It's all very, very close as per usual. Towards the back of the pack, people dropping out of the race or ducks dropping out. Lisa looks like she's had it. Lizzie Scotty Dogs has got no chance. Steve O'Brano's there, but really, you know, not really got a hope in the world. And AMPR at the bottom now is coming to the front and then dropping off again. Paul Hillman leading the group at the moment, Wednesday UK with a Christmas hat on. Richard Payne's close at the front. Net Spresso there in fourth place. It's very, very close. Wednesday UK and Richard Payne still leading the pack. Lisa coming forward. Pumpkin Picker with the unfair advantage with a great big beat. Very, very unfair. That Cavallis with the clown. Richard Payne's still leading. Richard Payne's definitely making a bid for a win here. And Titch is coming forward and going back. Lots of ducks coming forward and going back. Richard Payne seems to be the constant towards the front. Lisa's up there now as well. Lisa takes a lead with 10 seconds to go. It looks like Lisa's got this in the bag. Lisa's won it for sure with five seconds to go. It's going to be Lisa, or is it?
SPEAKER_01It's Jules has come from the show today. I've seen a Jules Bules B won it from out of nowhere. Came all the way from the back of the race to the front. Beat Lisa with one second left.
SPEAKER_04That aerodynamic go faster.
SPEAKER_00Punk hair do we've got Jules B wins the race. Jules, make sure you send me a message on Instagram or Facebook.
SPEAKER_04There she is. Yay.
SPEAKER_00Jules B. You get the duck. And one kilogram of sweeties is yours. Well done to you. Wow.
SPEAKER_04Use that hydrogen boost at the end.
SPEAKER_00You are gonna enjoy those sweeties. Well done. Yeah, Jules says, I'm looking forward to the sweets. Not the duck. This cute little duck.
SPEAKER_03You don't want that.
SPEAKER_00Maybe, maybe Bal can have it.
SPEAKER_04Yes, yeah. First winner. Well, that also means Jules that you are now in the champions of champions race at the end of the year.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, that's it. Yeah, you've got a chance of winning the hamper at the end of the year for Christmas.
SPEAKER_04Which I promise this year we're not going to have a dramatic Christmas this year, are we? We've had two Christmases like that. So I will put more effort into the hamper this year.
SPEAKER_03Really?
SPEAKER_04Last year it was a bit scatty, wasn't it, with everything that was going on.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Why you got your hands on me, sweaty face?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it is sweaty. Oh, you're disgusting. I'm boying it. That is disgusting. Oh, anyway, I've just put on screen our Jurassic Park and World eBay Live sale that's just going on. I keep talking about it, but please come and join me tomorrow at six o'clock. I'm selling my entire collection that's behind me. All my Jurassic World and Park stuff here is going up on eBay Live. A lot of it will start at a pound, some of it might be a bit higher, but a lot will start at just one pound. And that's my own personal collection that I'm flogging on eBay Live tomorrow at six o'clock. Please come join me in the corner of the screen up here. Ah in the corner of the screen up here, you can scan that code. It'll take you to all my eBay lives, including the latest one that you see on screen. Please come and join me. It'll be a lot of fun, I think, hopefully. There we go. So we've managed to do it, babe, in one hour. One hour. That's a record, that that's a record. Anyone got anything else to chat about before? Because we are absolutely sweltering in here. We're probably we're probably gonna call it a day if there's no more chit chat, because we've got a walk cookie now. It's cooled down a bit.
SPEAKER_04I need to shower.
SPEAKER_00Bell needs to have a shower, yeah. And you need to wash your head because you need to stop touching the hair. Ugh, that's gross.
SPEAKER_04Do you want to feel down there?
SPEAKER_00We'll get banned now. Jeff said if it's really hot, just turn down the AC. Yes. Bell's got sweaty boobs. Definitely sweaty boobs.
SPEAKER_04If it's really hot there, just turn down the AC. Oh, thanks, Jeff. Thanks for that, Jeff. You know nothing about the UK. We don't AC doesn't exist for you. That's our AC.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's it.
SPEAKER_04And all it does is blow warm air at you.
SPEAKER_00It's useless, really, to be honest. It's absolutely useless.
SPEAKER_04Does that in in in in our humidifier thing, does that not blow cold air out?
SPEAKER_00I don't know, but we're not putting that on all night. Jesus Christ, we're not made of money.
SPEAKER_04Sleep in the bloody garden.
SPEAKER_00But Jeff, if you're ever deciding to come to the UK, I'd probably advise if you don't want to sweat your tits off without any air con, maybe not June, July. I mean, really, this is unusual for June. We maybe get a bit of a heat wave in July, but it's come early this year, hasn't it?
SPEAKER_04It's it's Santa anyway. He needs to come at Christmas.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, Jeff says we probably can't visit the UK in the summer.
SPEAKER_04Tent. Do you know what? It's hotter outside. It is, it's really warm out there. It's like you walk out and it's like when you get off a plane and the heat from the engines hits you.
SPEAKER_00Queen Conquest, Conquell Conquest says, I sleep with a fan on all night. Might be one tonight to be left on, I think.
SPEAKER_04We keep saying we did have one with a timer and it broke, and we've never replaced it. So the two we've got now don't have timers, and it's really annoying because you don't like leaving them on all the time.
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_04But I'm having like regular hot sweats in the night, so I'm having to get able to turn it on anyway. And this is before the heat. The second heat wave. First heat wave was end of May. It was, wasn't it? It was. Don't think it was as bad as this. This definitely feels worse.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah. I mean, we're in mid to like mid to high twenties at the moment, aren't we? Then it's gonna be 30s by the end of the week.
SPEAKER_04I freeze my hot water bottle to keep it cool in the bed. Nice and cool at the moment. Good idea. Do you know what I have done in the past? Cookie's got a cooling mat, and I have put that under in the bed to put my legs and my feet on before now. That might have to come upstairs tonight.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Right, guys. I think we've hit an hour. I think it's too hot for us to continue. We're calling in, what is it? The uh we're calling in the the Federation, the union. The union's gonna call it and we're gonna say it's too hot to work, too hot to stream. It's too hot to stream. Jeff, before we go, Jeff said you could make a cheap system for heating and cooling using some cooling coils buried in a few feet deep. That's that's way beyond me, Jeff.
SPEAKER_04Very technical. When you come to visit, you can figure that one out.
SPEAKER_00You can make one then for us if you want. Right, okay. Let's do Chris's final thoughts, which should be interesting. Chris's final thoughts before we finish. Just give me a second, guys, while I settle.
SPEAKER_04Ice packs in front of your fan.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that is a that a lot of people do that. Yeah, that's it. Okay, okay, guys. Right. Here we go. Thank you everybody for listening on Spotify, Apple Music, and all the other channels. Thank you if you're watching. If you came to join us on this hot Monday night, and hopefully you'll join me on eBay Live tomorrow at 6 pm. That's Tuesday, 6 p.m. We will be finished by the time England starts at 9. Gonna auction off all my Jurassic Park. Yeah, I know, yeah, probably. So here we are, Chrissy's final thought, and then we will call it a night. So I'm not arguing against recycling. Most recycling resellers make a living by keeping things out of landfill. What frustrates me is that eBay's announcement leaves small sellers with more questions than answers. If thousands of sellers read the same page and come to the same conclusion, does this even apply to me? Then the communication has failed. For most of us, we're not multinational corporations shipping thousands of parcels a day. We're ordinary sole traders sending the occasional jersey, a Funko Pot or a pair of trainers overseas. It's going to and if eBay, if eBay's global shipping changes anything, oh my good God.
SPEAKER_04Well, if they didn't know you had a teleprompter, they do now because it's going way.
SPEAKER_00I missed I missed a line, and then the teleprompter just fucking just kept going. Let me go back a bit.
SPEAKER_03Oh, that's here.
SPEAKER_00We go. If action is required, tell us exactly what it is. And if eBay's global shipping changes anything, just say so. Until then, we're all left with confusion, assumptions, and a lot of sellers wondering whether Europe is becoming more hassle than it's worth. Take care and look after yourselves and each other. We'll see you on the next one. And if you learn anything from this, don't use teleprompters. And if you're on YouTube, hit the subscribe button. If you're on one of the audio channels, hit the download button. And we'll see you next time.
