On this weeks episode we’re talking eBay Live. The fees are changing, sellers are worried, and we’re asking the big question… is this the beginning of a new era for live selling and can we survive the costs?

I'm joined by the infamous "Bargain Bell" for this podcast.

Plus the usual honest interactive reseller chat you've become accustomed to!

SPEAKER_00

Welcome back to the podcast, everybody. This evening we have three big announcements on the channel. And eBay trumps us a bit. eBay live fees are coming in. They've been announced. And we're asking the big question: is this big the beginning of a new era for live selling, or are many of us gonna have to quit? My name's Chris, aka Carboot Chris, and I'm a full-time UK online reseller. I operate mainly on eBay, but also on vintage and whatnot. I'm bringing a regular podcast all about reselling with a bit of fun thrown in too. Hopefully to keep you company to entertain you and maybe a little bit of education. Who knows? Welcome to the Everything Reselling Podcast. Hey, welcome back everybody. It's Monday night again, it's 8 pm, and we're here live on YouTube. And for those of you who are watching, sorry, for those of you who are listening, I got distracted because I got a ding-dong on my eBay account. If you're listening, thank you very much for listening. It could be any day of the week, any time of the day for you, but I appreciate you listening and downloading it on your favourite podcast channel, whether it be Spotify, Apple Music, or any of the others. Bell's here with us tonight.

SPEAKER_03

Hello.

SPEAKER_00

Hi, Belle. You're very quiet over there.

SPEAKER_03

Very tired.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, okay. Before we get cracking, we're gonna say hello to as many people as possible, and then we'll get into our big announcements. Some of you may understand what one of them is at least, but you might not know all of them. There's gonna be some mystery, some shroud. It's gonna be exciting.

unknown

Woo!

SPEAKER_00

Kind of, kind of. Make sure you stay tuned. We're gonna talk about eBay live fees as well. We've all had an email today, or I think we've all had one, talking about what the final fees are going to be for eBay live sellers, and it's a very interesting read indeed. So, anyway, before we get going, we'll get the one-minute timer music going, and Belle's gonna say hello to as many people as possible. Off you go.

SPEAKER_02

Um, so I've got Jamie D, Kevin Hawthorne, Phil Higginson, Lynn Lynn, Flipping Wolf Resells, Helen Graham, Deborah Sardine, Carol Harris, Kavallas, Ian G, Jeff Davis, Paul Hillman, Lime Light Vincent, Johnny Forticot, Lizzie Scotty Dogs Craft, Sharon Island, Sandra Parker, Nothing Major, Rosie Marsden, Cyril Smith, and Secret Garper. Oh, and Pixel Fix. Pixel Fix. Popped in just at the bottom.

SPEAKER_00

There we go, that's it. Welcome everybody.

SPEAKER_02

That was easy. No more shout-outs. I'm really grateful for where we've got to be able to do that. And one more.

SPEAKER_00

That's it. Well, there we go. The timer's out anyway. So it was perfect timing. Thank you everybody for joining us. Hope everybody's reselling has been good over the last week. If anyone's been reselling live on any of the live channels like eBay Live or whatnot, or even TikTok as well. TikTok are pushing us as reselling us, resellers, to get onto TikTok live selling. I get emails literally weekly saying get onto TikTok. But I'm not sure. People have said to me as well that it should be on TikTok selling. It's going it's going well for a lot of people. Anyone in the chat listening or watching actually sell like what we sell, just random stuff on TikTok live. Because all I ever see on TikTok is sweets. Sweets, yes, picking sweets. Clothes. But mainly like brand new stuff and and like teamu, teamw type cheap stuff. So I don't know whether dog treats. A car booter like me, somebody who's a reseller of everything and anything, would actually work on there. Have you ever you watched TikTok a lot? Have you ever seen anybody?

SPEAKER_02

I don't watch TikTok a lot. I I folly your niece, and that's about it.

SPEAKER_00

Anyway. Welcome, reseller George. Welcome to the crazy Monday night show. Uh anyway, before we get going, first up, let's just get this out of the way. I think um our first announcement of the night requires a video. So stay tuned. And I'm sorry for anybody listening who won't be able to see it.

SPEAKER_02

Not only that, but before we put this out, I'm going to give a trigger warning because it is of a sensitive nature and it may trigger some people in the chat. So just putting it out there. Trigger warning. Trigger warning.

SPEAKER_00

Because everybody's followed Belle's journey and our journey with this.

SPEAKER_02

And it seemed only at that we should let you let you see the the end. I'm gonna say the end product because it's the end of all the major stuff that's been going on. And so I I am now classed as being cancer free. So yeah.

SPEAKER_00

How did it feel ringing the bell?

SPEAKER_02

Very emotional, like a weight had been lifted just for the fact that I didn't have to go back to the hospital again after going every day for like two weeks.

SPEAKER_00

Because you didn't you didn't when we were sort of getting to the at the closing stages, we you weren't sure if you if it if it was the kind of thing where you actually got to ring the bell, was it?

SPEAKER_02

No, they only asked me the day before if I was gonna do it. And to be fair, it's it is good doing it because it really does it kind of like a yeah, that's it, I've done it, and then it gives you it gives you a just a moment of I've made it to the to the end, and it is emotional because also I've watched it back obviously, and not everybody gets the opportunity when you end up with a diagnosis like I have, and like many others have. So it's such a huge relief just to be there ringing that bell to say one one my treatment's finished, I don't have to go back again. But yeah, that I've survived the last seven or we've survived the last seven months. So yeah, it was uh it was a good day. It was a good day.

SPEAKER_00

And big thank you to everybody who has sort of sent best wishes to Belle and us over the last seven seven odd months it's been, hasn't it?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, we felt we really have. So thank you so much for sticking with us on this journey because it has been tough. And as much as everybody tells me I'm strong and I've done it really well, trust me, in the background, there has been a lot of a lot of wobble moments that Chris has had to help me through.

SPEAKER_00

So yeah, Jeff says bell's bell. Bell's bell. Well, this would be an app time to to bring back the bell end. It would be because that was the bell end, wasn't it?

SPEAKER_02

It was the bell end.

SPEAKER_00

And for anybody who don't know what the bell end is, is what we used to do at the end of the show. We used to say, let's do the bell end, so to speak. Bell used to end the show. But yeah, thank you for all your messages here.

SPEAKER_02

I also apologize because I got so many messages of people telling me that I'd made them cry. And and although I hope they were happy tears, I'm I do apologize. I didn't mean to make people cry. Chris didn't cry.

SPEAKER_00

I'd had seven months of it. You had Limelight's got a good point. Great of you to to to show to get checked out as soon as you get notice, as soon as you notice something, uh we should all take up our screening invitations.

SPEAKER_02

I am certainly an advocate of if get you get it checked, don't don't leave anything that you're not sure about, it's not worth it. It really isn't. I mean, I was lucky because I was on the ball and I caught mine early. So it makes it makes all the difference. And it does.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Well, it could have been the difference if you'd have left it another six months, it could have been the difference between radio therapy and chemotherapy. Because I I was desperately like when we had that that meeting where the where we found out if it was radio or chemo, I think that was one of the biggest moments, to be honest with you. Because I was like, I was dreading that it was gonna be chemo, as like, you know, it's such a big difference.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, in the in the harshness of the treatment and the recovery and everything, it is yeah, it is such a massive difference.

SPEAKER_00

Um, for it not to be the latter, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And that also shows how far we've come with how they treat cancer because once upon a time that would never have been an option, that would have just been you're having chemo, and that would have been it. So, you know, I'm I'm grateful that I've actually got this horrible disease, or I had this horrible disease at the time when I did, when we have so many choices around it as well, and ways that they can manage it.

SPEAKER_00

So there you go. You've all been on this journey, so I appreciate it, everybody. We shared it in the only way that we do, and that is by by putting it out there and and showing the end result.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and we are definitely, definitely in need of our holiday that's coming up soon, just so we can actually have a reset. I cannot wait.

SPEAKER_00

I cannot wait for that. Okay, thank you, everybody. Married to reselling was talking about TikTok there. The different ways of selling on TikTok. For you, it would be TikTok live auctions where you sell your stock in hand. So a bit like what we do now on eBay Live, basically. Others are selling the cheap stuff, as you put it, our affiliates. Oh, okay. So they're basically like showing a product maybe that they've either purchased or got for free, and then linking it for other people to buy from the original seller, and then they get 5%, 10% back and stuff like that. Yeah, okay, interesting. I don't know. I'm I'm tempted to give it a go because people are telling me that you know there's they're bringing in big audiences on TikTok live selling. So knowing my luck, I'll go on there and it'll be like 10 people will turn up and it'll be disaster. You've only given up so many times, or yeah, it's just the problem is it's just another platform to try and get to grips with. Maybe when eBay Live fees come in later this year for me, maybe that'll be the time to have a go. I don't know. I'd like to see someone else in our neck of the woods, similar to what we do as a reseller, do it, and then I can watch them.

SPEAKER_02

Some lovely messages there.

SPEAKER_00

Phil's got one there, that's good news.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, conquered it 30 years ago, and that's what I'm that's what I'm planning on. I've just got to get through the next five years, hopefully, without it returning, and then we're hopefully plain sailing.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But yeah, thanks, Sharon. Sharon's been a big support, uh, sending me messages and Queen of Conquest said, um, I've had my first uh routine screening.

SPEAKER_00

They do that, don't you?

SPEAKER_02

They do squish them. It's it's a barbaric way of having them checks, unfortunately. And I've now got the pleasure of having that on a yearly basis.

SPEAKER_00

For how long? Ten years. Was it five?

SPEAKER_02

No, I think it's I think it's five to begin with, because it's the first five years that's like the the higher risk of it recoming back. So they kind of keep a close eye on you for five years. But if that's what I've got to do, that's what you gotta do. That's what I've got to do. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Maritry selling the beauty of TikTok is that you don't need an audience, TikTok provide it. There's loads of resellers doing TikTok. I'm gonna have to have a look at this. I'm gonna have to go on TikTok and just see what people are selling, and you know, if I recognise anybody on there. And Lisa said, I thought you had to have so many followers before you could do TikTok shop. I've already been selling on TikTok shop. I don't sell on I as I did sell on like the static shop. You know how you can do live auctions and then you can just have a shop that people can find. I did sell some stuff on there, and then it kind of I kind of fizzled out and I didn't carry on with it. But so I have got a shop already, but but I don't use it.

SPEAKER_02

Lisa said fat, yeah. I think it is, it's it's I have to have yearly checkups for the next five years. I'm gonna be under the breast team for the next five years, and then I think as long as you're still you're clear at that point, then it changes. But I am on medication for the next 10 years, so I'll still be being monitored because of that. Yeah, so yeah, but it's it's fine, we'll deal with all the long haul stuff, it's all good.

SPEAKER_00

So now we've got that bit done, kind of moves us on to big announcement number two. So, what better way than to celebrate being cancer free than to buy a new house? Because that's what we're doing. Our house is now officially, as of Friday, just gone on the market. So we're going to move again, assuming someone's even interested in buying our house.

SPEAKER_02

I'm just I'm just picturing all the faces on the other side of the screen now that I've just gone. What you swore blind, you weren't moving ever, ever again.

SPEAKER_00

This will be we move from Reddish to Devon in 2020. So that was Mbury, and then we went Mbury to Torquay, Torquay to Rill, and now we're gonna go Rill to well, we're we're gonna stay around here, by the way. So that'll be four house moves in six years if this happens.

SPEAKER_02

So this may have this may have been, you know, when I said we had moments in the background of panic and stuff happening. This may have been one of the things that came out of one of those panic moments. But yeah, not just one reason, is it? No, there's multiple reasons. Multiple reasons. Obviously, the cancer has been one of the reasons, and my health because I can't manage this, it's too big, too big, this house. So that's obviously one of the reasons. We can't heat it, it costs us a fortune, it's just too big for two people, and we've decided we've got to a stage where we want to split the house and the business up. We want we want to be able to have a nice little manageable house that doesn't cost us a fortune, and Chris can have his business outside in the garden in a unit somewhere.

SPEAKER_00

That's the ideal thing. That's the ideal thing. Well, to have most of it at least, you know, outside of the house. But we're we're aiming for a bungalow.

SPEAKER_02

No stairs.

SPEAKER_00

Well, maybe a dorm of stairs or an attic room, but we're aiming for a bungalow. We're aiming to stay very close. If we could buy something on this very estate where we live now, we would love that. But yeah, this this is what we're planning on doing.

SPEAKER_02

Basically, what we've done is this was going to be our plan in 10 years' time, and just because of the circumstances and what's happened, we've decided to bring it forward a few years and just try and future proof for ourselves a little bit more.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And hopefully, along the line, bank a bit of cash, be able to pay the mortgage off a bit quicker. So there's a whole host of reasons why we're doing it. Was during cancer and treatment the best time to start it? No, particularly, but hey, here we are. So yeah, and we have our first viewing tomorrow.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, someone's in already, and we've had over Saturday and Sunday, we've had 517 people looking at our advert on right move, which I don't know if that's a good number or not, but it sounds like a lot.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know, but yeah, so but on the flip side of this, we are both in agreement that if it doesn't sell, we're not bothered, we're quite happy to stay. I think we've said that if we can't find the right house to move to.

SPEAKER_00

If the house is still our house is still on the market in two to three months, you know, we've not had the suitable offer, or it doesn't look like it's going to sell for what we want it to sell for. Or equally so, if we can't find a house that we want to buy, then we're going to stay put for at least another year and revisit it next year. But to be honest with you, it's it takes so much just to get to this point. It's like, oh, do we want to go through it again? But you know, we're not gonna be. I'm determined that we're not gonna put the house on the market, and if no one's interested, we just leave it on the market for two years waiting for somebody to come and buy it. I don't see that that that we're gonna do that.

SPEAKER_02

We're not in a desperate, we're not in a desperate place to move. It's not like we have to move. It's this is this is a life choice we're making to try and improve our financial situation and our day-to-day management of the how of the home. Because it is, you all know, not not only have I obviously just had the cancer stuff, but I I have ME, which is limit it limits me on a daily basis. So having a property this big is really hard to keep on top of. And a lot of people have just said, well, why don't you get cleaner? Chris doesn't like having strangers in the house.

SPEAKER_00

I don't like paying people to come into the house. But no, I mean we just about manage this house, but it would nice not to it would be nice to have something a bit more manageable.

SPEAKER_02

It's the upkeep, isn't it? This house is a hundred years old, so you can imagine it has issues and it's gonna start costing us money. So yeah, we're just looking for something that's more manageable, financially better for us. We don't have to freeze all winter because we can heat it without it actually costing our entire wages, yeah, and we don't have to have the business sat around us day and day.

SPEAKER_00

That's the idea. That's the idea, yeah. So I think we're just thinking, I think when you get to a certain point, right, this is what's happening with us now. Like we're in our mid to late 40s now, right? And you do start thinking about like the future and where where you want to end up and when you want to end up there. So we kind of bring it brought it forward. The whole cancer thing really did bring it forward. Sharing moments, do stuff like that too, and I think if we can bank a bit of money and enjoy ourselves with it a bit, a bit in the meantime, knock a few years off a few quid, knock a few years off the mortgage, then all all good, all good. But yeah, we didn't envisage this so soon, but yeah.

SPEAKER_02

We discussed it, it kept cropping up, didn't we? Yeah, we kept thinking about it. It kind of came up, then went away, came up, then went away, and then eventually I was just like, if we're gonna do it, let's do it, because I can't be in this middle place that you know. I need to know if I'm staying or I'm going. Uh so we went, we just went for it. And yeah, so we could have our house sold tomorrow. How's that feel?

SPEAKER_00

You never know. Someone could put an offer in tomorrow. I mean, Church Wood, but you know.

SPEAKER_02

So, yeah, watch this space, and you might be finding us a lot more stressed out soon if we've got to start packing the house up, because Chris is gonna have fun with this a lot.

SPEAKER_00

No. I'm gonna sell off a lot of my collection, by the way, guys. I'm gonna sell off a lot of it. I've decided that it's just stuff. As in the rest of the stuff that we've got in this house, like if we're going to a bungalow from this house, we're going to have to downsize a lot of the stuff that we have. So I've decided that it's just stuff, right? It's sat here. I enjoy it, but I think memories are worth more than just stuff, aren't they?

SPEAKER_02

And we're not buying a bungalow big enough to fit it in.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. So I'm going to sell a lot of it off. If I use it to go on a holiday, I use it to do something else that we can do together, then that's money well spent, isn't it? It is.

SPEAKER_02

Oh bless Sharon's just put there. She's just passed her five years, though, isn't since she had the last treatment. That's a big that's a huge milestone for someone who's had cancer because your chance of reoccurrence is high within the first five years. She's put very happy to have made it this far, but the worry never goes away. Just learn to keep busy. And I know, I know. We are this is the stage we're in now. We're in the transitional stage of learning to live in your us, aren't we? Because that's what it is. You it's as much as people go, Oh, you've had cancer and now you can move on. It's not that's not how it that's not what it works. It changes your mindset, it changes your thought processes, it changes your outlook on life. So yeah. So we're doing it like we we do in style.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Uh Phil says, Yeah, well, I did accidentally let it slip.

SPEAKER_03

You did, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

During I think it was an eBay live. On an eBay live, I said something about, oh, when we move or moving or something.

SPEAKER_03

That's my trick.

SPEAKER_00

The only person to pick up on it was Phil. Phil noticed it and he mentioned recently, I can't remember when he mentioned it, but he mentioned it. And he he he clocked it. I don't think anybody else clocked it.

SPEAKER_02

Mary Therese says, I heard you don't like your neighbours. We love our neighbours, we're gonna be sad to not have them across the road from us. Chat Piddle, we enjoy building the deck in so much they're going to buy a derelict property and Chris's. Do you know what? We have looked at it, we've looked at bungalow across the way that is a whole do-er upper. And you know what we decided? It's not for us.

SPEAKER_00

We could make a really nice bungalow across the room.

SPEAKER_02

It should be amazing.

SPEAKER_00

It's a shell basically, and we we don't have to find it. The cost, the cost now of having work done to that scale is so expensive.

SPEAKER_02

It's a shame because that could have been a perfect little place.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Moving again, and you're getting a bigger footprint so you will have more room for a stock shed.

SPEAKER_00

I'm hoping that whatever place we get, I'll have an outbuilding of some kind. That's the idea. Office and storage. Office the ideal thing would be office and storage outside. But as a like worst case scenario, just have an office in the house and all the storage be outside. So yeah, it won't be a bigger footprint than this house, though. This house is big.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

This house is, I think they clocked it about 1600 square foot. That's assuming that they're bloody measurements, right? Which I don't think they are. Let's not go there because we've been there too many times. But yeah, 1600 square foot, which is quite a lot. So I don't even know if that includes a loft space.

SPEAKER_02

But see, there you go. Secret Carper said they moved from a new build three bed in Essex to four-bedroom bungalow in Norfolk. So yeah, yeah, no, we're definitely grading with we want to do a bit of both.

SPEAKER_00

We want to knock a bit off the mortgage, definitely, whether it be years or monthly cost, or maybe a little bit of both. And then we want to put a bit in the bank as well, so that we've got a bit of money to spend on our new property, and also we've got a bit of money to enjoy, go on a couple of holidays or something, do something with it.

SPEAKER_02

Sharon said we did exactly the same after my cancer, moved to a house with bedrooms on the ground and upstairs so I didn't have to manage the stairs and banks a lot of money to enjoy life.

SPEAKER_00

Exactly, exactly that, Sharon. Honestly, I think if Belle hadn't gone through the cancer thing, we we would still be having the conversations because it was all it was hanging about, wasn't it? But I think that I'm not sure we were ever really that serious about it, or even I wasn't, but I think with with the cancer going on, it really kind of made us think about this very carefully. It kind of changed our mindset a little bit, didn't it? Yeah, but yeah, exactly that, Sean. I totally, totally get it.

SPEAKER_02

Is it bad to say that I kind of want to go? I want to live in a cancer-free house. I just want to move to a house where I didn't have cancer, though.

SPEAKER_00

Do you think this house gave you cancer?

SPEAKER_02

Yes. Okay, yes, I do.

SPEAKER_00

No, I don't. I love this house.

SPEAKER_02

I love this house. That's real this is the really hard bit, isn't it? We love the house.

SPEAKER_00

We do love this house, it is lovely.

SPEAKER_02

Tap peddler says, so this is what you were talking about when I said about clearing your collection. That YouTube video I watched was really interesting. Thanks, Carol.

SPEAKER_00

Good luck with all the plans and Jeff says, get something with no stairs.

SPEAKER_02

We're we're trying, we're trying, but a lot of the single story bungalows in our price range just don't have the space. So we are having to look at ones that have had attic conversions, so there would be at least one set of stairs. But that doesn't necessarily mean our bedroom will be up there, that could be office office space or spare room or whatever.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Uh so we are trying to keep everything on a ground level.

SPEAKER_00

Ian G said I'm downsizing two and going to sell off things I've held on for too long. It dawned on me that we don't need 90% of our possessions, memories are far more special. Exactly that, Ian. Totally. Yeah. And I don't think I honestly didn't have that mindset like just a few years ago. I think when you get to a certain age, when stuff happens like what this has happened, I think it just changes your mind a bit. And you just realise that you know don't need all this stuff. All this stuff here. I love it. I've collected it for many years. I love it, I enjoy having it. But it's just stuff.

SPEAKER_01

It's a lot of stuff.

SPEAKER_00

It is, it's worth a lot of money as well. It's worth it. I've already, I've already sold off almost my entire football shirt collection. I have I saved my favourite shirts, uh, which have I've got about 20-ish shirts left out of out of about 80. I sold off all my shirt collection. And I think I've banked, I think I've banked about £800 and £900, and it's all gone in our holiday fund, and we'll be using it this year for our holidays. And to be honest with you, all those shirts were folded up in a box in the loft. Never to be worn again. Would never wear them again. They were just there as a collection, folded in a box. So what really is the point in it?

SPEAKER_02

What really is the same with your Japanese pawn, aren't you?

SPEAKER_00

Yep, that's going as well.

SPEAKER_02

But yeah, it's just stuff, isn't it? Anyone into tartan movies? Watch this space because that's the oldest thing.

SPEAKER_00

All my tartan, it's not porn, by the way. It's horror. All my all my limited edition Tartan Asia horror films.

SPEAKER_02

Which I've never seen him get out of a box. Nope.

SPEAKER_00

In 15 years.

SPEAKER_02

In 15 years, I've never seen him get out of it.

SPEAKER_00

I've collected them all. I collected them all. The a lot of those DVDs are worth a quite a decent amount of money. They're all going to get sold, and then I'm going to go through this collection.

SPEAKER_02

All we do is move those boxes. Yeah. They've moved four times.

SPEAKER_00

They've moved four times and they've stayed in the same box. So you have to ask yourself, what's the point?

SPEAKER_03

Definitely.

SPEAKER_00

Let's get down to the bottom of the chat, and then we can move on to big announcement number three. Deb says stock shed.

SPEAKER_02

I don't fall into don't fall into my chat. My new shed is full. I need another one. And I've just seen somebody. How young are you? With all the wisdom you oh no, that's he's saying that to Ian. Uh something Limelight said bungalows are just as expensive to buy as houses right away. This is why we're struggling, because most of the bungalows that would suit us are higher than what our houses up on sale, and a lot less smaller. So because we're in a location where people come here to retire and live in bungalows, there is a hell of a lot of bungalows.

SPEAKER_00

There is lots of bungalows here, which is a good thing for us.

SPEAKER_02

But they're either tiny, because it's just a couple, an old day couple that live in them, or they're super expensive.

SPEAKER_00

Mushy says Prestaton's got lots of ice bungalows. It has we have looked at some. We don't know if we want to go up that far, do we?

SPEAKER_02

Well, you're saying that we're viewing two this week and starting.

SPEAKER_00

We are viewing a couple just to see what what we think.

SPEAKER_02

We really want to stay where we are in Kimmel Bay. And if we can't stay in Kimmel Bay, then we've kind of decided we want to go like potentially the Towie Nabigelli way. But we we are open to going to certain parts of Rill and Preston. So yeah.

SPEAKER_00

There you go. Queenie Conquest made use of one of the shirts that I've one of the early shirts when I was clearing them out. Queenie had one and it's been to Wembley a couple of times already. See, I would never have worn the shirt again, probably never ever again. It just stayed in the box. But it's got a new home and it's been out to some city games, which is great.

SPEAKER_02

Lisa said she could never sell her Liverpool shirts. Like I said, he's kept about 20. I've got my favourites.

SPEAKER_00

I've got I've got like all my champions shirts. So every time we won the league, I've got the gold lettering on the back, the gold patches. When we won the champion when we won the Champions League, I've got a Champions League shirt. So I've got all those ones, my favourites, and they're probably worth the most amount of money. So I've kept those, but everything else has gone. And I've literally have about seven left. Two of them are England shirts. I've sold quite a few England shirts the last couple of weeks. I've got about seven shirts left, and then after that, I'm going to start moving on to some other stuff.

SPEAKER_02

Chris says, big and little Steve and Lana will have to go back to the gym. Well, Lana is now a personal trainer. So she I think she got this job knowing we were going to move again, just so she'd be fit enough to help out.

SPEAKER_00

Uh Jeff says, big announcement number three, Carolina Hurricanes at a 2026 Stanley Cup champions. We're hoping to go see the hurricanes in November because there should be a game on while we're there, hopefully, and we're going to try and catch one with Jeff.

SPEAKER_02

Jeff and Tracy have said they're going to come along with us.

SPEAKER_00

Jeff, Jeff, we've already nominated you as the driver. So you have to come and pick us up from our host.

SPEAKER_02

We want a trip in Santa's Slade.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Jeff is nominated driver. I'm not driving to the stadium, no chance.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, vinyl not said bungalows here are 25% more than a house and half the size. Seriously, if you look, the house prices in North Wales are pretty cheap compared to a lot of the rest of the country, right? If you look at some of the what you could get for a house down here, I mean ours is a good example of what you can get, but compare it to what you can get in a bungalow, no comparison. No comparison at all.

SPEAKER_00

Jeff says I'm a good driver.

SPEAKER_02

My dad lets me drive on the driveway.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Well, that was announcement number two. So that leaves announcement.

SPEAKER_02

No more big announcements.

SPEAKER_00

Well, we still have a big announcement to come. Announcement number three, which is not the Carolina Hurricanes, although it's a good result. The champions. Oh, before we get on to this, we were taking a mick out of Jeff in the Discord. Jeff, Jeff's in our $2.99 a month Discord. And he was talking about the World Cup. Now he's from America, so obviously they have slightly different terminology for things.

SPEAKER_02

What have you been doing?

SPEAKER_00

We're taking a mick out of Jeff because he was calling the goalkeeper the goal, one of the goalkeepers took a bit of a blow, right, and during a tackle, a challenge in one of the games. And Jeff came in and said the goaltender. Goalminder.

unknown

He's poor.

SPEAKER_00

No, he said you said the goaltender. Now that is the the phrase that you use in ice hockey.

SPEAKER_03

Right, okay.

SPEAKER_00

So I let him off because you know, Carolina Hurricanes, there's a lot going on with the ice hockey. So he used the phrase goaltender. So we took the piss out of him for that.

SPEAKER_02

Are you being picked on, Jeff?

SPEAKER_00

So he did get picked on.

SPEAKER_02

Do you do you need some moral support?

SPEAKER_00

I was like, what's a goaltender? Is that KFC's news chicken?

SPEAKER_02

You're so mean. Are you cyberbullying Jeff?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we were bullying him a bit. I'm sorry, Jeff. I'm sorry. Okay, okay. Announcement number three, eBay live fees, guys. We were talking about it a couple of weeks ago. We were talking about what the fees, what were the fees going to be? Were they gonna be the same as eBay Core on the main platform? If so, was that gonna drive people away from eBay Live? How would how would fees affect us all? How would fees affect sellers of low-value, high-volume stock? You know, would it be feasible to carry on selling on eBay Live depending on what the fees were? Well, we've had an email today. Just as I was about like about two hours before we went live, we had this email, and I thought, oh, well, I'm gonna have to sort of alter the how how the show goes tonight. So I've been looking into it. So at the moment I'm on a zero fees, completely, completely zero fees for six months. My fees end on the 19th of September, my zero fees. And at that point, I'll start going into this fee plan that eBay have come up with. And it's not quite the same as eBay Core, it's slightly cheaper, but it's still going to hurt those of us who sell low value, high volume, it's still going to hurt. So basically, the here's a summary. I've got it written down here. Here's a summary of what this email said and how the fees are going to work for eBay live sellers. So basically, most almost all categories are going to be six percent for the fee. So for me, it's stuff like Funko's, clothing, collectibles, it's gonna be six percent. If you do like trainers, trainers are four percent. So trainers are a bit cheaper, and there's some other categories like coins, I think are four percent, and there's some there's a couple of other variations, but looking at from my point of view, stuff like doing Funko shows, pop culture, clothing, you know, even jerseys, not that I probably won't bother with jerseys again, but jerseys, it would be six percent, the majority are six percent. So on top of the six percent fee, there's a payment processing fee of two point four two percent. So that takes it to, for example, eight point four two percent, and then on top of that, there's a 30p per order fee. The 30p per order fee might not sound like a lot, but when you do a low value, high volume, that extra 30p is the killer, it's the same killer that Whatnot gives you when you do one pound starts, because it just means that the cost of selling the low value stock goes up such a lot, the percentages go up massively. So, roughly for someone like me, it's gonna be 8.42% plus 30p, and that's on the item price, include including your postage as well, you get charged the fee. So it kind of takes off some of your little bits of profit that you make on the postage as well. So, just to give you an example, right? Let's make an assumption that I sell something that has $2.99 postage, because that's what my postage is for one item is $2.99. So if I sell something for one single pound and the person pays $2.99 postage, the total fee is going to be $64p. So out of the pound that I earn, it's gonna cost me $64p to make the sale because they charge you on your postage as well. You do make it on $2.99 on a pop figure, you probably make about 30p in reality because it costs 269 via parcel to go, but then you better gonna take a chunk of that as well. So on a one pound sale, your fee's 64p.

SPEAKER_02

Lisa almost got it, 67p, she said.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, because she wasn't carrying in the postage as well. On a three pound sale, if I sell something for three pound, the total fee is 80p. And that that works out 26.7 percent of the item, not the total of the item. So the three pound sale, not plus the postage, the effective fee is 26.7 percent. On a five pound sale, the fee's 97p, which works out at 19.4%.

SPEAKER_01

Babsis says less cost of stock.

SPEAKER_00

Of course, yeah. On a 20 pound sale, the fee is £2.24, which works out at 11.2%. So that 30p absolutely kills you. So it it on the cheap items, I think once everyone starts paying fees and it's gonna be phased in, you're not gonna suddenly see on a certain day everyone pays fees because we're all on different, we're all on different zero fee deals. So it's just gonna slowly be coming by the end of this year, everyone will probably be on fees, unless of course they they keep giving new sellers like zero fee periods, and then that'll be different. You can tell this is boring the hell out of babe.

SPEAKER_02

No, it's not me, it's hurting my head because of the noise, the loudness. I'm just trying to block my ear from that sign.

SPEAKER_00

So basically, any if you sell anything between one and five pounds on eBay Live when you're doing fees, you're gonna you're gonna get hit the hardest. One to five pound is a hard pill to take. Even though the actual fee is cheaper than eBay core, it's it's it's those low-value sales that really hurt. And for me on eBay Core, I don't sell anything less than £10 for that reason. So selling it on eBay Live at that kind of price is going to be difficult. But if you can sell something on eBay Live at £35, once you hit £35 plus £2.99 postage, the fee roughly comes down to about 10% of the item value. Roughly 10%. So that's when you start seeing, you know, a reasonably fair fee. So what can we expect when eBay live fees kick in for the various sellers? Well, I think you can expect starting bids to start higher. I don't think, honestly, if I've got any doubt about something, like whether it'll go for if I'm worried about something going for one pound because it might be a bit niche or not very valuable, I'm probably gonna start it at three or four or five pound. Because it you you might as well just say, who wants this for free if it's gonna go for a pound? Because you're gonna it's gonna cost you 64p. You might make a little bit on the postage.

SPEAKER_02

Final number, so eBay are gonna get more than you are.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, pretty much. Yeah. eBay will pretty much get more than you, but you you can make a bit on the postage, though. You can make a bit. So people will start raising starting bids. I also think people might raise the postage price. Like for me, I can earn a bit more money back instead of saying $2.99 for postage, maybe I could say £3.49 for the first item and then 50p for each additional one. And that way I can offset a little bit of the cost, especially if something sells for £1, $2, £3, £4, or £5. I can get a little bit of those costs back. But equally so, the minute you raise your postage price, does it put people off buying because it's too expensive? Bundling becomes much more attractive. So if you sell if you sell three pops, one after the other, three pounds each, right? You're better off putting all three pops together and selling at one lot and starting them at nine pounds than selling three separately at three because of the extra fees involved in each individual sale. So I think. We'll see bundling. I always I do bundling anyway. Um, I I like doing bundling for that exact reason. Like I've got used to it and whatnot for that reason to avoid the per-order fees. So I think you might see more bundling and the focus on slightly higher value stock, higher starting price, hopefully a higher ending price, and therefore not not so much hurt on the fees. Because don't forget, in this situation, if you compare the eBay live fees pay on paper to the eBay core fees, it's cheaper. There's no doubt about it. The fee is cheaper than selling on eBay core.

SPEAKER_02

But the expectation from whatnot lives is eBay Lives. And eBay Lives is cheaper.

SPEAKER_00

People want stuff cheaper. But you can't, you people are not going to be able to afford to sell stuff for one, two, three pound. That that's that's a given. If you do sell it at that price, it's either a loss leader trying to get people in so that they've got combined postage.

SPEAKER_02

Carol said there, how did your trainer show go?

SPEAKER_00

It was I did I did the probably the worst live income that I've ever done. Exclude tilt, because that there that's terrible. Tilt is terrible. Oh, it was for me anyway. So, but including What Not and eBay, I think the trainer show was the worst show I've ever done. I think I took about 50 quid.

SPEAKER_02

Accidentally sold.

SPEAKER_00

I accidentally sold a pair of 50 pound trainers for like six pounds. It was a new tag, the Didas Tubula. I had them listed for 50 and I decided to start them at a pound. Or I might have started them at a fiver, I can't remember. And they went, they only went for six quid. And I did have like 30 odd people in the in the chat, and that's all they went for, £6. I mean, on this example, if I'd have sold them with fees on, it would have it would have cost me over a pound to do the sale. So I'd have lost about 20% to fees.

SPEAKER_02

Jeff says eBay must have a mind to kill off their live show division. Lisa says I think they just want to kill off the people that sell for lower prices.

SPEAKER_00

Possibly, yeah, possibly.

SPEAKER_02

Secret Carpa said, can you just set up in another family name to get zero fees?

SPEAKER_00

Maybe, but isn't well no, but no, you can't be bothered doing all that stuff, can you? It's too much cloak and dagger for me. I just think I'm not saying for one minute I'm gonna stop using eBay live. I'm just saying maybe be a little bit, I'll probably be a little bit smarter about it. I'll probably not do as many £1 starts. I'll probably do more three and five pound starts and more premium items like we've been used to doing. Because they always work well. Because at the end of the day, the fee is cheaper. If you can get a similar amount or a reasonable amount for an item than what you would on core, then the fee's cheaper.

SPEAKER_02

I guess maybe building your what God. Do you know what? I can't remember the name of that platform when I need to remember the name of that platform. I guess you maybe need to look at building your eBay lives up to be more of a offering people your core stock cheaper, but cheaper. You know, and pushing it in that direction that you it's basically like having a sale on your store, isn't it? That's a yeah, but live on.

SPEAKER_00

It's a good way to look at it, I think.

SPEAKER_02

You know, so good way to look at it. People would be interested in buying it from the store, then buy it from the eBay Live because you're gonna get it at a better discount.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah. Well, yeah, that that's it really. It's not a surprise. And like on the face of it, when you look at eBay's fee offering, it's you know, for most categories, it's 8.42% plus 30p. So on the face of it, it's it's not a bad fee, really, is it? It's not a bad fee at all. If you're selling over £10, really under £10, the fees, the fee percentage is quite high, really. But I mean, it's the same as anything, isn't it? If you can sell in volume, you just have to swallow that fee. And you have to swallow it.

SPEAKER_02

Trugman said have to auction bundles five items for five pounds start.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Carol says, so once eBay Live fees come in, is it better than selling on whatnot or eBay Live?

SPEAKER_00

It's cheaper on eBay Live than it is on whatnot. Based on those, based on that fee structure, it's cheaper on eBay.

SPEAKER_02

Married to Reselling says I'm four minutes behind fingers. No one wants to sell stuff for a pound. We just do it to try to gain interest. If we sell 20 or 100 items for a pound, I'm losing. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, of course.

SPEAKER_02

As long as I'm making hundreds, I'll take the hit on that.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Lisa said, Did you say they were worth 50? Yeah. Um, did you say they were worth 50 when you were selling them?

SPEAKER_00

What?

SPEAKER_02

Those trainers. I can't remember. Or did you just look at look it up afterwards and then I checked it afterwards?

SPEAKER_00

I had them in different piles on the floor and I didn't realise I picked up the wrong one. But people don't listen when you say something's worth a certain amount anyway. It's like, oh, how why do I believe you?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, that's one of our teams, Kate Verder. And Tide Spain nil-nil. Is that yours? Kate Verder is it mine? Vinyl Nutter says, Is anyone up for a lunchtime chat on Discord tomorrow?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, sure.

SPEAKER_02

Oh no, I'm I'm you've got the dog at the groomer.

SPEAKER_00

I've got to take the dog to the groomer, so feel free to crack on and see if anyone pops in.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you're there at 12, aren't you?

SPEAKER_00

Bab says, I think people will drop out or sell. I think some people will certainly drop out, Babs. I think some people will. I think you just gotta, yeah, I think it just focuses your mind a bit. We've had no fees for six months by by the time it comes round. So we've had it good. Let's let's be honest. No zero fees, completely zero fees, no processing fee, no 30p, no fee, nothing at all. Every single penny was coming to us, or it is coming to us right now. So it's a it's a fair shout that the fees were always going to come on, let's be honest about it. But yeah, I think it will just focus you a little bit to to to maybe be a little bit careful with certain items. But like Maritherese Allen said, sometimes you do start a few one pounders just to get the juices flowing, to get people some postage in the bag so that the next item they buy is is very cheap or zero postage, depending on which seller and how they deal with it. So yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Chris said, did Phil buy them trainees? He would have heard you.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Um just trying to catch up on the chat. Where are we up to?

SPEAKER_02

Uh they're just talking about the oh, there you go.

SPEAKER_00

That was that one.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Trugman says some people also source for very little or nothing. I can see lots of the charity shops doing well with eBay Live in the shop doing a rail to clear their stock.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, why not? I think if charities aren't jumping on this kind of selling, it'd be mad not to, really. They get the numbers up a lot. If you've got someone confident enough in the team or a volunteer to come in and say, I'll run eBay live for you, you know. A young person or somebody who knows how they're doing with tech and stuff. It'd be a great way for charities to to get on board. But I thought it was very interesting to see the structure of eBay Live, how how they decide to go for it. They've d they've clearly deliberately undercut whatnot. They've undercut them by a few percentage points. Obviously, you know, to try and keep people from going back to whatnot, essentially.

SPEAKER_02

Most of them went for more than the market price.

SPEAKER_00

Brilliant.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Jelly cats are in it. Everyone wants them right now, don't they?

SPEAKER_02

Do eBay give charity free fees?

SPEAKER_00

I'm not sure, Lisa, to be honest with you. I would I would think that there'd be something. But if you if you're a genuine registered charity, I would think that there is something. I'm not sure though. There you go. eBay Live.

SPEAKER_02

You're just gonna have to. It's all like we said with when you started Whatnot, everything is trial and error, isn't it?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I've tried a lot of categories. I've I've used this period to to try different things. I won't be doing trainers again, that's for sure. I probably, I mean, uh, I probably wouldn't do jerseys again. I think it's too niche. And when you've only got a smaller audience, that's what I just said. No trainers and no jerseys. I'll probably stick to the car boot shows do well. People like the variation of a car boot style show, and the pop culture shows do well as well. I'll probably carry on with those. And what I always do is have the premium items in between, so items from my store that I'm willing to give a hefty discount on to get them gone. So I'll probably keep doing that. And I'll I'll try and keep doing one a week until until the fees come in. Kind of make hay make hay while the sun shines, isn't it? That's what I said in the Discord today.

SPEAKER_02

Good luck finding time this week.

SPEAKER_00

I know. This week I think is a goner. We've got too much on this week. Plus fix it freed as in Clandidno to this week, too. So she she's she wants to meet up as well.

SPEAKER_02

We've got the boy coming Saturday, potential staying over until Father's Day.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

You didn't know that, did you? Yeah, no. Krillin's dropped us two dollars. Hi, Krillin. Hi, Rob. Did you see the Scots sing sweet Caroline?

SPEAKER_00

I didn't see it, no, but I saw that they'd won. Yeah, it's like two in the morning or something. Crazy. But yeah, thank you, uh Rob, appreciate that.

SPEAKER_02

Krugman said he's pretty sure they get a free shop fees.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, possibly. Rob, I'm still waiting for you to come back to me because you said you were interested in doing like a jersey deal. You source the jerseys in in all your thrift stores, and then I buy them off you and you ship them over here. I thought that was a deal, wasn't it? I'm still yet to hear from you about that.

SPEAKER_01

I think you need more places to source jerseys.

SPEAKER_00

Well, he's he's got all these old days in these thrift stores, he's got them all sweetened up. He goes in there, he goes in there with his burritos and says, Here, do you want a burrito? And he gets all these cheap jerseys. He's not sure what to sell them for. So the best thing is mark them up. I'll give you a bit of a markup, send them to me, and we'll have this international transatlantic deal going on.

SPEAKER_01

He said I told you you have to figure out the you have to figure out the logistics to put it back in your court.

SPEAKER_00

No, hey, if you're the seller, Krillin, you gotta come to me. No, I'm I'm happy to work some out, but obviously it depends on the financials, doesn't it?

SPEAKER_02

Chris, has anyone heard if Big Owl's made any progress building his selling platform?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, by the way, has Big Owl put any videos out lately? I don't recall seeing any. Has he kind of stopped putting videos out on the tube?

SPEAKER_03

Hmm.

SPEAKER_02

Do you know what I've realized?

SPEAKER_00

Go on.

SPEAKER_02

You've drank nearly a whole can of coke while we've been on the show and you've not burped once. I've been burping inside. Because you're live. But when he sat downstairs next to me, every single drink he takes, he belches and it stinks.

SPEAKER_00

What you're not seeing is that my stomach right now, my stomach is ballooning. When the minute this show ends, I'm gonna do the biggest burp ever.

SPEAKER_02

So you're just saving it all for me.

SPEAKER_00

Either that or it'll come out the other end, and I can't help that. When it's ready, it's ready. Quillin's just had a burrito. I I bloody knew it. Steve, welcome, Steve. I buy on whatnot. It seems to have a better community feel than eBay Live. I don't think eBay are a patch on it at the moment.

SPEAKER_02

Ah, you see, that's why we don't like it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, because it's too much of a community feel. Not the community aspect. I've I feel like I don't like all the gamification stuff. I've said it loads of times. I went on whatnot the other day. This is what I don't like about Whatnot. And as a seller, you probably like it, certain things. But as a buyer sorry, as a buyer, you probably enjoy it. But as a seller, I don't enjoy it. I went on on Whatnot. I don't know if it's gonna have it on here.

SPEAKER_02

I don't enjoy it as a buyer. Too much, too much talking.

SPEAKER_00

I've lost the page. And it just reminded me of why I didn't like it much as a seller. Maybe I'll have to go on one. No. It had across the top, it had gems, so you gotta be involved in this gems thing. Referrals. Well, why is it not coming up on here? It had four things across the top. I don't know where it is now. Gems referrals, fuck it, something else. It's gone. I don't even know where it's gone. Oh, here it is. Referrals, challenges, gem store, coupons. This is what I don't like. As a seller, I don't like all that stuff. Challenges, all this nonsense. Daily check-ins. Watch any show for 10 plus minutes. Shop and earn. So you've got to earn these gems, and then you can go to the gem store and spend your gems. I can't be arsed with all that. You know, never know. You know, might end up back on whatnot at some point. But for now, I prefer eBay as a as a seller. I prefer eBay because I feel like it's a little bit to buy and not chat. It's a little bit more people come to buy. And there's still community on there because lots of people from this community come on.

SPEAKER_02

Why do selling platforms have to be about community? You these are platforms, it's not like you need conversation, you're just there to buy stuff or sell stuff. And I'm a I'm a I'm a chatty person, I like community, but when it comes to that sort of area, I'm just like, I don't go to chatter. If I want to chatter, I'll go to Facebook or I'll go to Instagram or I'll go to one of the other platform social media platforms.

SPEAKER_00

I was watching someone on whatnot because I've got 15 quid still to spend on there. So I was looking at the pop because to fill my collection that I'm gonna sell at some point. I was looking at the pop seller, and there was this guy who was doing really good. I really enjoyed his stream, right? He did it how, in my opinion, it should be done. He literally put a pop on the turntable, he described it, showed us a condition, and he started it at whatever a pound or whatever. Started it, and people were bidding. There, some of them were bidding way over the actual eBay prices. I was checking some of them because there was a couple of gizmos I wanted. But one of the gizmos went over 40 quid, and you could buy it, buy it now on eBay for 30. So, you know, he was doing a good job. That was how I see the streams like get it on, sell it. But sometimes people just talk too much, don't they?

SPEAKER_02

I haven't been on for a while, so I don't know if it's changed, but that's why I came off it because it just I just got bored. Because I wasn't there for conversation, I wasn't there for all chatter, I wasn't there for all this getting people in for a f for a crappy freebie without actually doing anything. Just didn't understand it. All I wanted to do was buy stuff.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, Krillin said, I've never done any shipping outside of eBay. I don't know the cost-effective ways to do it. I think Pirate is it pirate ship, Rob, that they use in the US. I think that's the best way to get the prices, to get the cheapest prices for international shipping. I think it's pirate ship. Or pirate, no, not pirate bay, that's something completely different, isn't it? Pirate ship, I think it is, and then it compares all, gives you all the list of international shipping prices and stuff.

SPEAKER_02

Lisa said the gems are pointless, you have to spend loads. Paul said, Paul jokes from Wales says, Hi Chris, I sold the little house on the prairie. Oh good.

SPEAKER_00

Big Ed's big oh sorry, Ed said, Big Al did a live today. He's not launched yet, but his platform will become be called Zavlo. Zavlo. That's right, random. What does it mean?

SPEAKER_01

People go home, whatnot for a chat, not to shop.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I think um I think there's a place for both platforms. Like Steve said here very. Depends what you like, how you like it. I do, I did like the way Whatnot dealt with the shipping after the show. It was very, very easy. Like, because you weren't involved in the in the monetary part of the shipping, they literally give you a label and you slap it on. So easy. And and that part of the eBay, eBay live is a little bit more complicated and long-winded. But the you know, there's there's a I quite like whatnot. I always liked whatnot, but it did start getting a bit. But I think as a buyer, it's probably better than as a seller. What else have we got in the chat?

SPEAKER_02

Uh Ed Ventures says he spoke about his eBay platform and selling all his property to move into his Irish mint business.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Carol says, Oh, just ignore all that crap, Chris. I do. I've just refitted my whole house with new light fittings from a particular seller and whatnot. They just sell in no chat, it's great. Oh, cool. Steve said, for what it is for me is it can be educational in the streams. I am into coin.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, okay. Different world.

SPEAKER_02

Cellars are open and I learn a lot as well as picking up some. If it's conversation about what they're selling, then that's fine. Because that's what you're there for. But it's when you go into the ones where they're just there for a chin wag. They're just there for the chin wag, and they they're not talking about what their items, they're not sewing anything, they're not selling anything, they're just chatting.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that's different. Like if you're talking about the niche and that, that's that's good. I like that.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Shopping her reminds me of SNH greenback stamp supermarkets.

SPEAKER_00

There you go. Jeff says Pirate Ship is what Tracy you yeah, pirate ship, that's what that's it. And it gives you all the breakdown of all the different. I'm sure Rob Rob, you must know about Priate Pirate Ship, surely.

SPEAKER_02

Paul says I sold it for 60 quid, his little house on the prairie.

SPEAKER_00

There you go. That's not bad. Did you sell it at the car boot, Paul, or did you sell that online for that price?

SPEAKER_02

Hi, Chris. Did you say you're not selling trains anymore?

SPEAKER_00

Trainers on on eBay Live. That's what I meant. On eBay Live.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. You've never sold trains.

SPEAKER_00

I have got I've got some computer trains for sale. Oh, have you? Yeah. Oh, sold it on eBay for 60. There you go. I said to you, didn't I? You might if you're gonna sell it at a car boot for 60, you might as well sell it, drop your price on eBay. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Are we done?

SPEAKER_00

Duck race time. Not bad. Not bad. What's the dog shouting at us for? Hi, baby girl. Who's ready for the duck race? Hi, baby girl. Hey. Hello. Let me just get the duck race ready. Do you want to tell the listeners, babe, what the duck race is all about? For those that aren't watching or something.

SPEAKER_02

It's a virtual race using ducks. There we go.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, nice one. Thanks for that.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it is what it says on the tin. It's a race with virtual ducks. And if you would like to partake in it, you have to come over to unfortunately to our YouTube channel. You can't just listen. And just drop a comment under one under this video, and it will automatically enter you into next week's duck race. And you can win a lovely prize, which this week is this plush chicken unicorn with wings.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, it's a duck unicorn.

SPEAKER_02

It's a duck unicorn. Okay, with wings and a horn. And some of Chris's favourite mini sweetie things. Mini mockies. Mini mockies. So that is this week's courtesy of us for a day.

SPEAKER_00

Courtesy of us, yeah. Once you've had mini mockies, you'll never look back. I'm telling you now. They are the best sweets ever. So this will be the 213th duck race. 213. 213. Queen of Conquest says, Did you see that big whatnot seller Wings World that has just lost all of her stock in a fire? Very sad.

unknown

Wow.

SPEAKER_02

No insurance either.

SPEAKER_00

There's a go. I've not heard of that. No.

SPEAKER_02

No. No, no.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, that was very sad. Yeah, that's to be fair. Most of us don't have insurance for our stock. No, that is.

SPEAKER_02

A tragedy that house housey ho.

SPEAKER_00

Good luck with the house. Thank you, Housey Ho. Is that Jeff again?

SPEAKER_02

Paul said Crest is in real. Got 50% off clothes, D B D teddy bears and shoes, Crest.

SPEAKER_00

Oh. Very rarely go to the charity shops to be honest, Paul, these days.

SPEAKER_02

Very rarely going to work.

SPEAKER_00

Very, very rare. Right, are we ready for the duck race? Bell, you're limbering up the old commentary voice. Seems as you've not been here for weeks on end. I did the last one. You weren't here last week. That means it's you.

SPEAKER_01

Rock, paper, scissors.

SPEAKER_00

No, I'm not doing it.

SPEAKER_02

No, I'm not doing it.

SPEAKER_00

No, because I know you'll win.

SPEAKER_02

Rock, paper, scissors. One, two, three.

SPEAKER_00

No, you're doing it.

SPEAKER_02

I lost.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, did you lose?

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

I don't understand rock, paper, scissors.

SPEAKER_02

You had a rock and I had scissors, so you're blunting my scissors. Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_00

I'm a useful. I don't do rock, paper, scissors.

SPEAKER_02

It's only when you do it. Rock, blunt, scissors, paper covers rock. What does that mean? That means I win if I did on paper because it covers your rock. But if you did scissors and I did paper, then I lose because scissors cuts paper. What about a paper cut? Oh, shut up.

SPEAKER_00

Don't want one of them, do you?

SPEAKER_02

No. Oh, Housey Ho's is not one of Jeff's.

SPEAKER_00

Our house is very cheap. Yeah, it is. You can buy it if you like. Make us an offer.

SPEAKER_02

If you want to buy it, feel free.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, here we go. Let's go with the duck race, guys.

SPEAKER_02

I will agree with Housey Ho in the grand scheme of houses. But what you're getting in our house, our house is a bargain. And considering you're literally one street away from the seafront as well.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Oh yeah, rock, paper, scissors, lizards, spot from Big Bang Theory.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, don't go, don't add that extra bit on. That's way too complicated.

SPEAKER_02

McCam Rini had a t-shirt with it on the front.

SPEAKER_00

Here we go. You ready?

SPEAKER_02

On your mark. And they are off. We have lots and lots of ducks in this house. How many ducks did we have?

SPEAKER_00

40 odd.

SPEAKER_02

45 ducks. And out of those 40 odd ducks at the moment, Tich is as a naked duck is winning the race, or he was winning the race. He's now no longer winning the race. Emsdenham has peaked her way to the front along with Sharon Island.

SPEAKER_00

Peaked her way to the pack.

SPEAKER_02

Peaked beats peaked her way to the front. Or beats. Carboot Keith is down there at the front of the pack, but Peter A is just out in front at the moment. Dirl Wanger up at the top. He's trying to get into the front of the pack, but now he's going in the wrong direction. These ducks are checked. Why are you in it again?

SPEAKER_00

I forget to take my name out.

SPEAKER_02

Have you ever win this race?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I've won it already.

SPEAKER_02

So Jeff Davis uh is the strawberry duck at the moment, and he is leading the pack. Uh soft elf behind that, and pumpkin picker is there as well. Sharon Island is still holding her own up at the front. Down at the bottom is Ready Steady Retro, dressed as a police officer. Can't believe the little Viking duck is. Now it's disappeared. All these names are all covered. I can see Lizzie's Scotty dog there. She's um bobbing along up near the front of the pack, but Titch is pushing their way back through again there, determined to try and get somewhere. We're down to the last 30 seconds. We have cloud nine allotment at the bottom. We have Netspresso at the top. In the middle, we have Lizzie Scotty dogs, Titch, Sharon Island, Tiny Cloud, Speedfoot Flips. This could be anybody's gate, anybody's race, but the pack is starting to split. Half of them are going backwards now. We're down to the last 14 seconds, and it's Tiny Cloud, Linlin, and Shawin Island. It is a race of three ducks. It is now a race of one duck. One duck, two have dropped off. But I think someone's gonna come from behind who I've never seen. It is that's what she said.

SPEAKER_00

Blah blah blah. Well done, Borium. Well done, Husty. You have won the duck race. Send me a message via Instagram or Facebook, and you will win this unicorn duck and the mocky sweets, which are amazing, my favourite sweets for my local shop, these. Oh, so good. So it's so wonderful.

SPEAKER_02

How many of them you eat without me knowing?

SPEAKER_00

Lots.

SPEAKER_02

Uh Housey Ho said they'll give us a one pound start on the house.

SPEAKER_00

Uh nope. We're not doing one pound starts. Too big a fees.

SPEAKER_02

Anyone remember buy a house in Wales, go home to a real fire?

SPEAKER_00

What's that? Like an advertising campaign or something?

SPEAKER_02

No idea. Never heard of it. Limelight says, is that when the Welsh nationalists were burning English-owned houses?

SPEAKER_00

What are they talking about?

SPEAKER_02

I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Peter Fox says, Hi Chris, my name is Louis, and I like the carbootel videos. I'm a subscriber. Oh, welcome, Peter. Thank you very much. Glad you like the videos. Appreciate the support. And you've joined us on a Monday night, which is great. Make sure you enter the duck race for next week and win yourself a prize for free. For free? For free. Just about made it then, didn't I?

SPEAKER_02

And it was you that said it and not me.

SPEAKER_00

I know. I realised after I'd done it. Yeah, Hustie, send us a message. Oh, that's what it's Husky. Husky's Emporium.

SPEAKER_02

Husty.

SPEAKER_00

It's Husty, isn't it? Hmm.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know. That's the way Rosie's written it and Debs has written it.

SPEAKER_00

I need to say a big, big thank you to all our channel members going across the screen at the bottom here. SPEAKER_02

Nothing major said the Finny Mock mini mockies are delicious. Oh me and Dorothy Watkins just ate them all.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yeah. Brilliant, aren't they? So nice.

SPEAKER_02

Uh Andrew says, are you saying huskies are away?

SPEAKER_00

No, are they away? Oh okay. Hopefully we'll watch back. There we go, we're done. Do we call it a day? Because Belle looks absolutely knackered, don't you, baby? Belle looks knackered. Don't you?

SPEAKER_02

I've been trying to subtly do it behind me.

SPEAKER_00

I know, I know, I can feel it. Every time you yawn, it kind of sucks the air out, and then it makes me want to yawn. Oh, buy a house in Wales and go home to a real fire, a hail and pace sketch. Oh right. God remember hail and pace. Awesome.

SPEAKER_02

Say that again. Previously winning race 890.

SPEAKER_00

Right. Well, I want to say before we do Chris's final thought, thank you to everybody for all your support for me and Bell over the last few months. Finally got the result. And good luck with eBay Live, especially when your fees come in. If you decide how you're going to carry on, and if you're just going to carry on the same as normal, that's fine. And yeah. Appreciate you all taking time to come and listen. If you're on Spotify, Apple Music or your favourite podcasting channel, please hit that download button. If you're here on YouTube, hit the subscribe button if you haven't already. And I'm going to finish with Chris's final thought, and then it'll be the end of today's show, and we'll probably see you next week, hopefully. So Chris's final thought. Sometimes it's easy to get caught up in percentages, algorithms, and what eBay is doing next, but moments like these remind you what really matters. Businesses grow, platforms change, houses come and go, but health, family, and the people around you are worth more than any sale you'll ever make. Take care of yourselves and look after each other.

unknown
